Bricked wii - Sysmenu unknown w/no backup nand from Bootmii..

Yeah, it musnt have converted right.

Did you definetly put the flash.bin (renamed from NAND.bin) and the keys.bin from a WORKING wii in input, and the keys.bin from YOUR wii in output?

I'm gonna do it again.. I know I did this step plentiful times..

I did put my cousin's NAND.bin and his keys in the output, changing NAND.bin to flash.bin, and put my keys.bin in the output folder and clicked on betwiin.py.. I didn't miss any step..

Does he have teh same boot1 and boot2 versions as you? If not, this is the issue.

Perform the latest Nintendo update. Thats the only way.

wow.. so right now, I'm gonna format his system then do the update.. because if he has a hacked wii and performs the update.. it might brick.. I wouldn't want to take the chance.. plus, I'm backing up the formatted wii.. in case if something does go wrong during the update.. thanks a lot.. I appreciate it.. now I'm just waiting to see of the boot1b 2v3 has changed to 2v4 already after the update..

there is very slim chance of bricking which is not increased or decreased by having a "hacked" wii, and formatting will lose him all his saves and vc/ww games, so i'd advise against formatting it.

Well, I backup his saved games on his SD card to his computer.. not a good idea?

Success! He got boot1b boot2v4! Now I do the same process with Betwiin again?

yeah go through betwiin again, then restore the dump. and it should be ok with the saves, but any vc/ww games he bought are gone.

For some reason, it still doesn't work.. I don't understand why it's doing this.. and I'm doing everything like you said.. :\

1. We both got the same boot1b boot 2v4
2. His is a working nand.bin and his keys.bin works too
3. I downgraded his system to 3.2U (I hope it don't make a difference)
4. My system used to be system 3.2U before it said "unknown"
5. I used Betwiin, and it still says that "dump is for a different wii"..

I don't get the concept of how his working wii just doesn't work with mines.. I don't get it.. can you help me?

HI i have a bricked wii. switch on the wii, all i get is a black screen,
when it was working i did a backup of the nand and tried to install useing bootmii from the sd card, and came up with this nand belongs to anther wii but is was from the same one. before all this I got in with the help of some hacks, and deleted all the cIOS like a nit
is there any chance I could get it up and running again ? could you please help, so i can get my wii back on, i have another wii, that is a friends. could i do a nand back up from his
to get mine up and running.

I dont have a modchip

That is a bug in Bootmii beta3. All NAND dumps made with it have this issue. Fortuantely, it is easy to fix.

You need to take keys.bin and nand.bin and put them on the root of your SD card, for example E:/
(Replace E:/ with the letter assigned to your SD Card)
Then, if you're on Windows, open a Command Prompt by clicking Start>Run and typing "cmd.exe" and pressing enter
Then type "cd E:" (replace E with letter of SD card)
Then type "copy keys.bin+nand.bin flash.bin"
Let it finish and there will be a new file called flash.bin.
Move your nand.bin onto your computer, then delete it from your SD card.
Rename flash.bin to nand.bin, then remove SD card from computer.
Run BootMii and restore the NAND dump.
