Hello

Re: Is my wii semi bricked or fully bricked

Please, can anyone give me the right answer to my problem?

After updating to the 4.3 firmware my wii has become unplayable

When i try and play discs, i always get "Unable to read the disc" and when trying to install Homebrew i get black screen Error#004 An error has occured. The system files are corrupted.

Thanks

You're trying to use Bannerbomb which won't work on 4.3, that is no surprise or problem.

It would appear you have a dirty lens or something similar, if your Wii does not have homebrew installed on it, you could send it to Nintendo to fix it.

I have already cleaned lens.

send it to Nintendo to fix it.

Don't want to pay nearly the price of a new console to get it fixed, if someone can pinpoint the problem and give me a fix for the problem.

Thanks

If you haven't been able to install homebrew on it yet, Nintendo should fix it for free/quite cheap, depending on if its in warranty or not.

You should try anyway, they may fix it for free.

My friend sent in his Wii (which he got in 2006 or 2007) and they fixed this issue for free, they also replaced the motherboard because he lost all his saves, etc which really pissed him off because the problem was just with the disk drive.

Agreed, they have said that they will fix dirty lenses for free.
