He never released his method, only said that he used a non-fakesigned, but hacked, disc, which he used a modchip to fool the Wii into thinking was a legit "pressed" disc, to trigger an exploit in the recovery menu that then allowed an unmodified retail SSBB disc to boot. This was significant, because SSBB is one of the few games that will not work if its patched to autoboot, and even if it did, you would need to have a trucha bugged IOS on the Wii for it to work. GiantPune's method requires no patched IOS AFAIK.
