No it is not worth getting. It is useful in one very rare type of brick, and even then it's use is limited. You are better to install BootMii/boot2 if you can and regardless of whether you can or not, be careful with homebrew. Don't run any dangerous stuff, anything to do with IOS or System Menu installing or patching should be avoided unless you are very sure you know what you're doing.
