okay i dont understand step 3 Get a DOL or ELF and put it on the SD as /boot.dol or /boot.elf.

whats a DOL or ELF
and where do i get it?

Please i am a total noob.

so is the boot/DOL a folder that i make on the root of my sd card that i put the thing that i wanna load into?
or is that the apps folder?

Okay, you are a little confused here, which is understandable.

Bannerbomb is a means to run a homebrew application, or installer.
Homebrew applications on Wii are in the form of .dol or .elf files.
Bannerbomb looks at the root of your sd card for files named boot.dol or boot.elf to launch.
The wiibrew wiki hosts/links to a lot of homebrew apps that you can try out.

The question is, what exactly are you trying to achieve here?
I assume you don't have the Homebrew Channel (HBC) installed, and are on System Menu 4.0, right?

um,
i just found out what to do with the .dol ect.
but i just ran usb gecko.. and i think it froze..
i dunno how to use that program..
anyhow...

so say i wanted to run the application save game intaller do i just download the app and put the .dol onto the root and it will run it?

Not sure about your mention of usb gecko, but provided the .dol is renamed to boot.dol, yes that should load the application.

you can use loadmii to boot most other games...make sure the loadmii app is in your root and named boot.dol
