I have a quick question. I currently have system menu 3.2 with homebrew And im thinking of upgrading to menu 4.0 Would that be alright to do at this time or should i wait. And also i heard you can't get preloader on wii with 4.0 is bootmii just as good cause i see you can put it on 4.0?

Stay on 3.2. You have more benefits. Unless you're desperate for SDHC support, don't do it.

I'm on 3.4U. Would I be missing any benefits if I went to 4.0?

How did you come to 3.4?
The only benefit you might have is that you MAY still be able to abuse the "trucha" bug

The guy on 3.2, stay on 3.2. The guy on 3.4, upgrade to 4.0. Simple as that. 4.0 has no MAJOR features over 3.2, other than SD Card Menu, and support for SDHC in System Menu (i.e. you can put channels and saves on SDHC cards, but games which use SD cards, say for DLC, wont be able to use SDHC), and on 3.2, you can do pretty much anything. I'd advise you to install preloader and bootmii as boot2 (install bootmii first, it's less risky, then take a NAND dump with it, then install preloader)

daniel_c_w , I think it was when I ran a system update through one of my games not too long ago. Maybe it was Tiger Woods 10.

SifJar, I'm not too familiar with all homebrew out there. I recently used the Hackmii installer v0.2 to update my HBC and DVDx. I do remember Bootmii there if I'm not mistaken but I don't think I installed it because it said it made permanent changes to the NAND there.

In short, am I installing bootmii and the preloader as boot2 from Hackmii installer v0.2?

Install bootmii as boot2 from the hackmii installer. When you're done with the installation process, make a backup of your NAND using bootmii. Thats all you need to do. You can install preloader after bootmii if you want to, but its kind of useless if you have bootmii as boot2...

preloader and bootmii are two seperate things, and only bootmii gets installed to boot2. sorry if that wasnt clear before. i'd advise you to definetly install bootmii as boot2 using hackmii installer, and then taking a NAND dump, because this means you're practically unbrickable. preloader isnt really necessary, it just has a few nice little features like enabling region free and stuff. but definetly install bootmii and take a NAND dump.
