Doing the wii system format remove everything?

With my failed attempt to install homebrew channel + bootmii, I want to start over and try again fresh, does the wii formating remove everything I have done? Or will I brick my wii?

it doesnt brick your wii but it does refresh all your memory on the wii like it was brand new

If this is the very first thing and only thing you've done, then no harm done. However, if you had downloaded games from the Wii Shop, you need to buy them again.

I believe that reformatting the Wii only deletes the channel, not the license, so the channels can simply be redownloaded.
