Any way to use the Wii Shop Channel on a hacked 3.4U?

So I hacked my Wii no problem using 3.4U, It seems I can't get into the shop without updating to 4 which I really don't want to do yet, however I've still some points I'd like to burn off if possible. Is there any way around updating to get there or am I stuck waiting?

I triedthis on a 3.4E, but it had no effetcs.
I finally update to 4.0 because it's safe if you don't remove the homebrew chanelle, and the new exploit use 4.0....

Use WiiSCU

I too have got 3.4E and would like to update the Wii Shop Channel so my daughter can use WiiSpeak.

As you suggest, I tried to use WiiSCU to update the Wii Shop Channel.
However, although it seem to install OK, when I try to use it, it just crashes back to the menu.

Do I also need to update the IOS?
If so, which version is recommended?

Yeah, that doesnt work anymore. Use WiiSCU.
