Is the Bootmii installation required to use HBC and DVDX?

I have a virgin US 4.0U Wii, and I would like to install the Homebrew Channel and DVDX, It is required to install Bootmii too?
Thank you for your help, I'm a very new in the Wii world.

HBC = App that loads homebrew
DVDx = App that "unlocks" the DVD drive
Bootmii = App that can fix almost anything when installed as Boot2
They can all function independently.
