I got a virgin LU34, with 4.1u never been chipmoded niether softmoded a would like to install HBC , should install HBC after or before upgrade to 4.2u.

You could read the whole article if you want. In other words, right now it's possible to install HBC in 4.2 but if you update before going to 4.2 you will not need to run any exploit (Bannerbomb, etc) to install the new HBC, it's not a matter of security, both ways are safe. It's just a timesaver advice so you can do whatever you want.

Doesn't matter.

Better yet, don't update the Wii Menu at all.

Exactly what I was going to say.
Just don't even bother updating the Wii Menu.
There really is no update, the only thing it does is attack homebrew.
I would just install HBC and then leave it how it is.
