New Wii - Installed HBC/DVDx/bootmii as IOS....now what?

Greetings all! We just got our new wii today, and I'm already at it.....

MY WII - 4.2U
IOS61 v21.29 (that's what it says in HBC)

What I've done so far....
Installed HBC/dvdx/bootmii using the hackmii installer v.6
bootmii was installed as IOS (boot2) not an option.

My questions/concerns. I want protection against bricking my wii before I go any further. What should I do before I start installing additional homebrew apps?

My apologies....(I'm off to a bad start here....sorry)

Despite one of my intents, I am fearful that as I continue to explore the many options available with homebrew applications/games, I am fearful I have not taken enough steps to protect myself from owning a brick. As I continue to mod my wii, adding more and more homebrew apps, the potential for bricking my wii grows higher and higher.

What you need to do to protect yourself from bricking, is don't try backups and don't try Wads. I know how you feel I'm the oldest of 5 children including a 9 month baby and I'm afraid that my brother who is also six may ruin my games. I have designated a spot where all wii games go and if I find even one wii game left out they are severly punished, by which they can't play the wii for the next 48 hours so far after 2 and a half years, no games ruined.

ok - Seems like advise that might be useful in the Fixmii forums too?
