Question about installing

Can I install the Homebrew channel using a USB drive, or does it have to be an SD card?

It absolutely has to be an SD card, the Wii doesn't recognize USB drives.

Erm, not true. The wii does recognize USB drives, you just can't install the HBC using one.

Nothing made by Nintendo recognizes USB drives, or at least it ignores them, so the only time they are useful is after Homebrew is installed.

Yeah, thats true. I thought you were saying you couldn't use them at all. Mah bad. :)

Nintendo's original idea for the USB ports on the Wii is for certain things, like:

Remote chargers
Cooling stations/fans
Keyboards
LAN adapters
Microphones/instruments (Guitar Hero, Rock Band)
Webcams (Some exercise games)
etc

I'm not that tech savvy, so I haven't tried hooking my Wii up directly to my computer, and if I could if I wish to, I don't want to risk it.
