If there is no version number when you click the Wii icon in the bottom left, then choose the right box, you probably have a launch-day 1.0 menu.

You can check out a list of all the exploits here
I think the only one that won't ask you to update is the Twilight Hack. All the other ones will ask you to update. If you are fine with updating this isn't a problem, but if you want to stay at 1.0 then use the Twilight Hack.

You could try Bannerbomb v1 but I'm not sure if it would work...

You can also update from some game discs, I don't know which though.

If you don't want to upgrade or buy Twilight Princess, then you can just rent it. You only need the game for a few minutes.

Homebrew channel does not work well on SM 1.0, it installs and runs but there is no channel to launch with, you have to load with a forwarder. SM 1.0 does not support SD cards, so you can't use savegame exploits. SM 1.0 does not have any ios the the HBC can use to run, so some functional ios needs to be installed, like 58. Only way to install HBC on 1.0 is via custom disc. Best to update from disc to SM 3.0-4.2.
