Anymore Nintendo refuses to fix a wii if HBC is found on it, they send it back untouched. If they don't find it, since yours was a first launch wii if they fix it they just might put a different drive in it as well so it will not be able to read dvd's but only official game dvd's. I am not saying don't send it in, this is been known to happen to some. If it works call them back and tell them it is now working, but if it does it again is the repair warranty still open or should it be sent in anyway.

Like I said if they see that HBC is on the wii they send it back untouched and unrepaired.
