Can't get hard drive to show up on wii

I'm trying to get my external hard drive to show up on my 4.3u wii. I've gone through all the proper steps and have used the right software, but my wii still fails to recognize it

What're you trying to use it for? How is the drive formatted? What apps are you using?

Either he's trying to use IOS 58 for a USB hard drive thinking it will be picked up, or he botched a CIOS installation that would allow a USB hard drive to play in which case the drive would be formatted as WBFS. That format would allow for pirated game ISOs to play on Wii. Only two things it could be. One of which (the CIOS option) I can only think of for why the drive isnt being picked up since the homebrew channel no longer supports it.

If you're using the proper software OP you wouldnt have a problem so you may as well fess up to what you really did, or seek help elsewhere.
