First model WIImote not working

Just installed homebrew and boot mii. Everything looks like it loaded fine as I can get into it and navigate. When I launch boomii a screen shows up and it has icons for Wii, homebrew channel, sd card, and some gears. Once I get into that screen however my wii mote loses sync and nothing I can do fixes it. I downloaded the most recent file from bootmii 1.1.0 i belive and if I am reading my wiimote correctly it has a code RVL-003. I cant get it to sync and am in need of any help. Thanks for your time.

Wii remotes just don't work in BootMii, there's nothing wrong with your Wii remote.

Use a GC pad in port 1 to navigate the menu. If you don't have one, you can use the Power button to cycle through options in the menu, and Reset to select. You just need to briefly press each button.
