DSI error only with nunchuck?
May 22, 2013 09:20PM
The DSI error started all of a sudden Tuesday morning.Everything works fine now with just wii-mote.Add nunchucks at all, and dsi or isi errors come up depending on where you go.Bought and tried a 3rd party nunchuck and still having problems. The only things I could find semi related to my issue were ios problems and 3rd party nunchuck.

Tried without usb stick, and still have the issues.Don't have a 2nd SD card or a 2nd wiimote to rule those out.Any ideas at this point I am 12+ hours into trying to fix it.

This is syscheck log, don't know how close this is to ban territory based on the warnings.Thought someone might know enough to atleast eliminate or narrow down what route to take. Can play without nunchuck but some games awkward to play with. Not paying $40+ for a wiimote at the store.Ordering online can take up to a week, and even then no guarntee on it fixing the problem.Any ideas?

I don't believe you mentioned where you're getting the DSI error/crash. It could very well just be that whatever app/game you are running doesn't support your nunchuck. It could possibly be an IOS issue since most of your IOSes are terribly patched..

Nunchuck worked fine up until tuesday. Now it's not working anywhere.Loading any app with it gets dsi error. The syscheck was done after directly following a guide on wiihacks.are the ios just outdated or? Like i said i'm just walking in the dark if it's even the cause of the dsi errors.

By anywhere you mean any homebrew apps? The Homebrew Channel itself? What apps are you running?
It's not that the IOSes are outdated, the guide you followed proabably was though. The only issue with your IOSes is that they are patched with the Trucha bug which is usually not a good idea and could be causing your issue. You could try reinstalling unmodified IOSes.

I'll just list every single thing on my wii since there is nowhere on the wii i am not having problems with using a nunchuck on.Thought the umbrella term "any app" would be appropriate but: off the top of my head.

Home Screen
Home Brew Browser
Home Brew Channel
Syscheck
[Removed 3 different USB loaders]

Hmm that's strange that it would happen in the Homebrew channel as well. I think it would be a good idea to install your IOSes again. I would give you instructions but I'm a little busy at the moment. I'll post them later if no one else helps.

I got mine from wiihacks.com don't know why they would be wrong.

Also don't even know if it is the root cause of the DSI error.

It is illegal to distribute IOSs, you must download them yourself from Nintendo's servers with NUS Downloader or on your Wii with DOP-Mii.

If your wiimotes work fine on their own without a nunchuk attached, the IOSes have nothing to do with it. Also I'm curious how you get a DSI exception screen from the wii's home screen since it's not a homebrew app.

meant loading apps through channels instead of going through home browser also created the dsi exception.

Are you thinking different SD card, different wiimote or what as a possible solution?

the little i found online about dsi exception that actually had a solution ios was part of the problem. which is why i started there.
