Problem with the HomeBrew Browser
July 13, 2013 01:16AM
I've read the sticky at the top of this forum about if you're just getting bubbles upon starting the homebrew channel but that's exactly what's happening to me. I downloaded the Homebrew Browser and unzipped the folder and placed it in a folder called apps in all lower case letters. I put the SD card (I bought the SD card at Gamestop, specially for Wii) into the Wii and go to Homebrew channel and still all I see are bubbles. I've moved the switch back and forth on the SD card but that hasn't changed anything. I'm using Wii version 3.4 and I installed Homebrew with Indiana Pwns.

Can anybody help me? I feel like I've wasted a whole day trying to get this to work and nothing has worked yet.

If you did it right, it should look like this on the SD card:

Quote
Format
SD:/apps/homebrew_browser/meta.xml, boot.dol, blah blah blah.

EDIT: I hate autocorrect.

EDIT 2: I think you did it like this:
Quote
Format
SD:/apps/meta.xml, boot.dol, blah blah blah

Wow thank you. You are almost correct. I had all of that in an extra folder that was created when the file was unzipped. It's working now.

OK... Follow this steps to get this work.
1. Format your SD card. You must format your SD card in Fat/fat16 or fat32 to work.
2. Create a new folder call apps in lower case.
3. Put your apps into your apps folder for (e.g) homebrew browser. Inside the title of your apps must have these files.
SD\apps\homebrew browser\boot.dol or boot.elf, icon, and etc.
That's all you need.
Note: Make sure your SD card is compatible with your wii.

But some SD cards are not compatible. If SD card has a lot of capacity, it might not work. But lot of SD cards will compatible. Here is the SD card compatibility list [wiibrew.org].

AFAIK, all SD cards work. I have a SanDisk 4gb an it works fine.

EDIT: That's a Lexar, not SanDisk

EDIT 2: That list is for BootMii and NAND backups. That means nothing in this case.
