wii 3.3u shopping channel update? (trying 4 netflix)

Hi all - its been a while since I Homebrewed my Wii. I finally gave in and got Netflix for the wife's iPad. Now I want to start streaming netflix through the Wii.

I have to update the shopping channel to get the Netflix channel (as far as I know that's sthe only way to get Netflix). My Wii is still 3.3U - I've never updated because playing backup agmes has always worked for me so no reason to change.

I downloaded the latest HBC update through the wii, and let it update my HBC, and have bootmii as boot2. I found a method to update the shopping channel to the newest wad. But when I go into the shopping channel I get booted back to the wii/channel menu. Do you think this is because my system is 3.3, and the latest shopping channel is probably 4.3? Do I need to update past 3.3? If so is it possible to do without changing my current setup for running games?
