Chance of Brick?

Chance of Brick?

I know there is a chance of brick but before i even attempt to install homebrew channel i want to know my possibilites of recovery. My wii is unmodded (no chip) and is on system menu 3.4 (latest). With those current specs how could i recover my wii if the homebrew channel bricks my wii. From what i understand, holding all directions on a gamecube control in port 4 will start recovery mode so no savemii card is required. Once recovery mode starts i also understand version 3.0> will read the disc and install the update regardless of its version. So if i have a SSBB disc with update 3.3 on it, and my system has 3.4, will the wii install it and fix my brick?

Also what amount of brick is homebrew channel + zelda exploit capable of? (semi or full)

To answer the last part of your question, I believe the twilight hack could technically give you either type of a brick. However, I've never, not even once, heard of someone hurting their wii by running the twilight hack to install the homebrew channel.

I don't know, but I have the same Wii specs as you (3.4, no modchip), and the HBC worked fine for me. Just do it, nothing bad should happen.

To fix it, I think there's this thingy called BootMii that boots stuff up even before the Wii Menu pops up. From there you should be able to fix it, if it does brick, but it shouldn't brick at all.

FYI bootmii isn't out yet, and you'd need it installed before the brick.

Oh, that's what I thought.

In that case why would you recommend bootmii, confusing the poor poster who already knew what he was doing?

Either way, there's only like a 0.0000001% chance of any brick if you're just installing the HBC.
As long as you follow the instructions you should be fine.
I don't know about savemii(or the gc controller trick) but from what I've read, that should work.

I don't think you can press a d pad in 4 directions simaltaniously.

You need to take the controller apart first...

I was going to do the below instructions.

Arikado Edit: Do not link to places distributing illegal IOS16's and backup launchers.

you should probably remove that link since it has to do with illegal downgrading and playing backups

you should follow these instructions

If you follow those instructions you are a pirate of disc games, channels, and the illegal IOS 16. This topic has served its purpose.
