Nope. Only BootMii/boot2 acts as brick protection.
You
can use Priiloader to autoboot BootMii/IOS at startup, but this will only save you from very minor bricks, and it is Priiloader that acts as the brick protection, not BootMii. In addition, Priiloader actually used illegal code last time I checked so that it itself doesn't brick. So for that reason, I tend to advise against it.
EDIT: If you're careful, you shouldn't need brick protection.
