Updating system menu

I`ve been waiting for this release before I update to 4.0. My question is I am currently on 3.2 with bootmii beta installed and want to do the update to 4.0. Will updating the system menu remove bootmii from my Wii ? Thank you for this great app.

No, updating to 4.0 will not hurt BootMii.

Is it known if system menu 4.0 can install updates automatically without your permission which may lead to one that removes bootmii?

In the EULA, it says that they can, but nothing such as that has happened just yet. Your best bet is to turn off WiiConnect24 unless you need it specifically for what you are doing, such as the Everybody Votes Channel.

From what I've heard there is no code for them to be able to force an update even if they wanted to.
