SDTVs (or, more likely, composite cables)

Has anyone else had issues with SDTV hookups connected through composite cables and BootMii? BootMii works great for me when hooked up to the HDTV through component cables, but on the SDTV with composite cables, it doesn't actually display anything. If power on without an SD card, it boots to the System Menu just fine, but with an SD card I just get a blank screen. Same SD card gets the Wii to boot to the BootMii menu consistently on the HDTV.

So far, I've seen two Wiis have this issue on two SDTVs. Only tried one of them on the HDTV, though.

Have you tried setting the .INI to Video=NTSC/PAL (According to your region, obviously) instead of Progressive?

Give that a shot, and let us know. :)

In bootmii.ini you have the entry:
Quote

VIDEO=NTSC (or PAL50/PAL60/PROGRESSIVE)
Make sure it's set to the correct video mode. Most probably yours is set to PROGRESSIVE.

maybe change the video settings in the config file ?
If set to PROGRESSIVE, this won't display anything in this configuration, use PAL50 if your TV only supports 50hz, PAL60 for PAL Wii, NTSC for NTSC Wii...
I personnally use SDTV with composite (default) cable with no issues

Man, epic fail... I can't believe that setting didn't connect with the blank screen in my mind :-)

I'll try it later and report back.
