NAND backup issue

Ok, so i've had bootmii since it came out. I still have the original version. But, anyway, I decided to finally backup my nand. It got about 3/4ths of the way done, then it sayed: bootmii failure -1
It still stayed on the screen that the rest of the process was using. The one that says not to power off the wii.
I'm wondering if it's safe to turn off the wii, and what caused the bootmii failure. I had 4 bad blocks before the error

EDIT:It said this message was marked as spam, and so i turned my wii off because i didn't feel like waiting. It works fine, but i'm still curious of what caused the failure

I would update to Beta 2. Don't just write the files to SD, either

It should be safe to turn off your Wii, because you were making a backup, not restoring.
