Wii Menu Channel Order

Is it possible to rearrange the channel order in the Wii/SD menus, other than dragging and dropping one by one using A+B?
Right now, channels are organized left to right by installation date, correct? I have several pages of VC and WiiWare and would love to be able to organize alphabetically, by title, or by release date, or by installation date, on the fly.

Where is the channel order maintained on the Wii? Can it be edited?

If an app already exists for this, I've had no luck finding it.

i think this is programmed into the system menu, rather than being a variable in a file somewhere. you'd probably have to disassemble the system menu .dol, look carefully at it, and write a patch which changes it. And it would probably be quite hard to do.

Should be easy enough to make an application that once launched, sorts the channels into alphabetical order or whatever. This would be best included in something like Preloader.
