If I set up my Wii to just turn off instead of going into stand-by, will Nintendo be unable to update it?

(i was going to post in the noob section!) but...

I read your answer (above) on another post as well as this one, so am sure you're confident

sorry to be a pain (or disbeliever !) but what about the new license Agreement in sys menu 4 thats says they can update without consent (or what ever wording it was) ?

i have preloader v29 and bootmii alpha both install but have searched their home page and niether actually say "prevents updates" (unless i'm stupid, which frankly, i'm not ruling out!!)

BTW updated to v4 from 3.2 (pal) from GBAtemp forum guide,

so... the quick question is ----

"with preloader 29 and bootmii alpha installed (ie HBC 1.02), can i keep WC24 on for weather / news / internet browsing WITHOUT getting an update" ?

the short answer i guess is "yes" , but please, can anyone point to some links (e.g. from team twizers) which states that ?

cheers, appreciate any comments

I guess you could read this: [forum.wiibrew.org] and this: [forum.wiibrew.org]
Nintendo does have the legal ability to update without consent, but they don't have any code in the System Menu to make that happen.

So, yes, you can leave WiiConnect24 on
