I would like to know exactly what BootMii is. I homebrewed my wii about a year ago and am very happy with it. Iv heard about bootmii but aren't sure what it is. I am wondering because I would like to install a linux gui from here [forum.wiibrew.org] and maybe play games off a usb drive. I don't want to replace the default wii os. I'm not sure but it sounds like bootmii replaces it. I'm just really confused.

Bootmii does not replace the Wii's OS.
Also, please note that the Wii only has 88 MB of RAM, and not all of it will be used (Linux on my Wii is only using 74 MB of RAM).
That is hardly enough to really do any serious gaming.
There's plenty of good uses for Linux on the Wii, but gaming is not one of them.
If you want to play games from your SD card or thumb drive, find a Homebrew app that can run those games, because they will do it the most efficiently.
