Replacement DVD PCB for black wii

I could do to replace the board on my wii's dvd drive.. I was wondering if you have to get certain chipsets/version

I have one of the first wii's ( killed by 3.2 -> 4.2 update ) just get black screen, no diag works and used to have trouble reading...but original good pcb.
a working d2e wii but has trouble reading original disks.
a Black wii... pain in the backside with the d3-2 chip

would it be possible to change the pcb in my original wii to the black one or the white d2e or do I have to get certain chip versions.

I think the black and white Wiis are internally identical.

They are.. it's whether a replacement dvd circuit board needs to have a certain chip..
Like say for instance my original broken wii... has an original wiikey installed but has trouble reading disks
The black wii is a pain with the d3-2 chip... but reads disks...
Would the original circuit board work on the black wii's drive.

you can swap out the boards, they should be compatible

Just looked at my original pcb chip. Its a GC2-D1.. just wanted to double check before I start taking them apart. :-)
