It didn't work :-( I notice the function described by scanff is almost identical to the one used in the standard wii template (template.c), but presumably the CON_ version is applicable to SDL. My code is setup like this for initialisation: //---------- INIT SDL LIBRARIES if ( SDL_Init( SDL_INIT_VIDEO | SDL_INIT_AUDIO) < 0 ) { fprintf(stderr, "Unable to init SDLby semprance - Coding
Ok, thanks for the help :-) I'll add in the init code tonight and hopefully get it functioning again. I know I don't need to use fprintf but alot of my code is already setup to print to either stderr or stdout. I assume that once the console is initialised it will all print there anyway. Cheers again guys, sempby semprance - Coding
I'm a bit confused, how exactly do I implement this code around the SDL initialisation(s)? Cheers for the help :-)by semprance - Coding
Hi there, I'll start by saying that I've really done myself out on this account as I actually solved this problem about a year ago and then lost the #@!%ing source code.... Anyhow, I digress: How do you make the console appear, and then redirect stdout/stderr to it, when using SDL? I had it working in a way that you could print text that was visible at the top and bottom of theby semprance - Coding
I can't say I have any ideas but I'm very interested to see what happens with this so keep us all updated on your progress :-)by semprance - Coding
I'm still confused about this. I used the fatInitDefault() method, and tried using "fat://filename.ext" but still got the same error. No-one else using SDL seems to have had this problem so I'm assuming there must be a way to fix it. I just don't know what it is :-(by semprance - Coding
I'm certain the file exists and is in the right place as, when the app is run from the SD card, rather than over TCP, it loads fine and draws the image on the screen. I've just programmed a basic pong game and it's all working fine from the SD card, however, running it from wiiload over TCP results in the same error. What I can't work out is, where is the SDL_LoadBMP funby semprance - Coding
Hi Slappy, I'd already tried the first two and the last thing you said to no avail. Strangely, getting the Loading process to throw an error still resulted in the DUMP info appearing on screen. The only way round I've found is to compile the program, copy it to a new folder in sd:/apps, and run it from the HBC that way. In doing this, the picture loads fine! and it draws to the scby semprance - Coding
Hi guys, This is my first post so bare with me please :-) I've used SDL in the past to create a few small games on Windows. Having recently installed the Homebrew channel amongst other things on my Wii, I had a search round and realised I could use SDL. I've started by just trying to place an image on the screen, but when I do all I get is a load of DUMPed information, and have noby semprance - Coding
