Quoteowen By default the player model is always facing/looking down -z. so vec a is (0, 0, -1) (negative z axis), vec b = (300, 80, 100) (player_direction) to get the angle you need to rotate around y axis you set a=(0, 0,-1) b=(300, 0, 100), and do the calculations dot(a,b) = 0*300 + 0*0 + (-1)*100 = -100 // you can use guVecDotProduct for that |a| = sqrt(0²+0²+(-1)²) = 1, |by bmeier - Coding
Hello owen, your vectors wont necessarily form a right angled triangle, so atan does not work. instead have a look at the dot product of two vectors. lets assume you have two vectors a = (ax, ay, az)T and b = (bx, by, bz)T the dot product of vector a and b is defined as dot(a,b)=|a| |b| cos(theta) where theta is the angle between vector a and vector b. |a|, |b| is the lengby bmeier - Coding
Hello, i've been recently working on a way to integrate the DevkitPPC toolchain into Eclipse. I ended up writing a plugin that may be usefull to others as well. The plugin adds the DevkitPPC Toolchain to the CDT Managed Build System. Once the plugin is installed the DevkitPPC toolchain will become available for C/C++ projects whose final build artefact is either an executable or staticby bmeier - Coding
