i think the better idea would be to use certain video options if the game title had (u),(e), or (j) in its title. this wont cover all games, but it would be much smarter than trying to save settings for every one of the 1000000000 roms that people have on their SD card. and wouldn't be too terrible to code.by giantpune - Ideas, requests
you can cheat and just change the file extension on your web server. i have an app that updates itself by downloading a wad and installing it. but i had the trouble with a wad file not downloading right from my server. i just rename the .wad to .file or .txt on my server and download it. then have my wii app rename it to .wad and everything works correctly. i didn't mess with any mime oby giantpune - Coding
try this WII_Initialize(); WII_LaunchTitle(u64 title); You will probably need more to shut down your threads that are currently running, but this should get you in the right direction. Wii_LaunchTitle() gets the views[] for you and calls the ES functions. The u64 title is the installed title to be loaded. For help knowing what number to call for what title, will get you started. So, I grabbed Xyzzy from wiibrew and ran the dol. It does its thing downloading the IOS and installing it and printing text on the screen. But it code dumps before it tells me any keys. It also does not create the text on the SD card with the keys. By reading the text on the screen and the source code, I see it is crashing when it calls print_all_keys();. I tried messing with the source to sby giantpune - Coding
I'm a bit out of my league on this one, but the way I see it you only really have 2 good ways to run code while a game is playing on the Wii. The debugger should be written into the IOS or into an app using MINI that is running the game. That is where I would try to start. If you can't figure out how to run your code while the game is playing, then you won't have much of a debugby giantpune - Coding
Just what the topic says, can I use USB Gecko to send stuff to the Wii at USB2.0 speed? If not, what is the limiting factor? The driver is (c) 2009 so I would hope it supports it.by giantpune - Homebrew General
sure its possible. you probably want to save your string to a global variable and then just create a new button the keyboard to use that stringby giantpune - Coding
the source for usb loader gx has the necessary stuff for listening to and reading data from a socket. it is fully functional, but spread out over a few files and not completely commented.by giantpune - Coding
but where at do they call that? is it in the main.dol or what? say a guy wanted to patch the game to load another ID... where would he go in his hex editor to do it? i have the entire iso extracted and im going through it and cant fine 100000002 anywhere.by giantpune - Coding
Ok, What I am trying to learn here is what exactly does the Wii game disc tell the Wii when you press the home button and say "Return to Wii Menu". I am looking for the equivalent of "0x100000002LL" from the "s32 WII_ReturnToMenu(void)" function from libogc. In this function, we call "WII_LaunchTitle(0x100000002LL)". There has to be something on the game disc that says "Launch this channeby giantpune - Coding
That was in the promptwindows file. Not sure if it still is there, as I did some remodeling and feng shui when I started putting in the stuff about channel launching. Look in revisions before it could browse channels and it will surely be there. You can also check out the titlebrowser file is recent revs. it lists the installed titles on the wii, with the help of code i borrowed from ATD. (nby giantpune - Coding
I have a little solution to the project setup for eclipse. To deal with all the clicking and typing when starting a new project, I got my hands on a macro recorder that is able to compile exe files. I used it to record all the steps to start a new project and made it into a exe. So just run that exe and it opens up eclipse and sets everything up for you. It isn't the best way, but it surby giantpune - Coding
I have made several apps using the wonderful libwiigui. But I have noticed that if there is a lot going on, the cursor sometimes disappears from the screen. The IR input is still working ( can still click buttons and the over effects for buttons still work). But nothing I do brings the cursor image back on the screen. Usually the cursor disappears while I am in a loop that doesn't have tby giantpune - Coding
Sweet. I just used your tutorial and got this set up in no time. A few parts were different in the version of eclipse i got, but i managed to get it. i was able to insert a breakpoint in teh hello world example and "debug" it with eclipse and my gecko. But then i closed eclipse and restarted it, the debugger fails to work. I guess i need to sit down and learn this thing. Thank you veryby giantpune - Coding
I have already set the gecko driver to use the com port (COM3). but i can't figure out what to set the environmental variable to. Ive tried WIILOAD and COM:3, COM3. neither work. any clue what I need to set it to? Also, for insight or eclipse's gui, are there any binaries floating around? Ok, I used that fancy search button and tried #usbgecko and got no answers. Maybe somebody here can fill me in. I went and got a USB gecko, set it up like the instructions said, and I am able to use it with WiiRD & gecko OS and mess with games (hacking codes and dumping the memory). But I know this little guy is able to do a whole lot more. I see that gecko icon lit up on HBC but I have nby giantpune - Coding

I've been using this little snippet from snes9x to check it. So the story is, I've been playing with the code dump functions and now I am trying to make it listen to the WiiMote so I can press home and restart. I'm having trouble with this as well. I guess my question is ... Is the guitar from World Tour recognized as a GH3 controller? Ok, I searched with the search button and didn't find this posted yet. If it is, please delete it. I tried to install BootMii beta1 and got error -2. The log says BootMii didn't like my Boot1.
