That would be the logical place for it, I suppose....maybe I'll post the suggestion there - I'm not so sure that it would be for only a few users, since this would give access to your iTunes library from anything running iTunes plus any iOS devices....and there are lots of users running that stuff. Anyway, I'll mention it there and see where it goes...thanks for the comments!by buddypepper - Ideas, requests
....forgot to post the link to the Windows project:by buddypepper - Ideas, requests
This is something that already exists as Open Source for Windows, and originally started out as Open Source on Linux, I believe....it would be amazing if this could come to the Wii. This lets you stream audio (and some tools are out there to stream video as well) from your Apple iOS device to an AirPort receiver - this software would make the Wii into a receiver...by buddypepper - Ideas, requests
Got a firewall? You'd need to make an exception for port 21 for this to work - you may have your firewall set to allow everything on the internal network, but block on the external (ie, the internet). The ultimate test is to turn off the firewall briefly and test it out then.by buddypepper - Offtopic
I'm guessing that you don't have an FTP server on your PC (it's not something that's there by default)...by buddypepper - Offtopic
Using Bluetooth to stream/transfer would likely be impossible - it's such a slow protocol. You could use BT with an A2DP profile to essentially use the Wii as wireless speakers though....but your files wouldn't be listed on the Wii, just the phone. As for iPods, that'd be a cool idea - not having one myself, I don't know how they work when you plug them into a computer (asiby buddypepper - Ideas, requests
Yep - thought of that...it's possible. That's why I want to know if anyone's gotten it to work....by buddypepper - Offtopic
Ya, I've done that - but it didn't work....it wouldn't pass that connection test - I've read that the connection test is a bit flawed when using a proxy.....and again, I've yet to give it my all to fix this since up until the BBC channel got released, there wasn't much point to it. Anway, if anyone's actually got it working, let me know - if not then at someby buddypepper - Offtopic
No need to wait - it's called MPlayerCE and it can play DVDs on the Wii....sometimes when my real dvd player doesn't like a disc that might be a bit scratched up, I pop it into the Wii and watch it from there (I find it handles scratches and errors way better than my real dvd player).by buddypepper - Homebrew General
I've tried to get TOR working using the Wii (proxy settings) but so far haven't had much success - granted, I haven't given it my all yet....Just wondering if anyone's gotten it to work? Why the heck would you want that, you might ask....well, if we ever get a version of Flash that's newer, I'd be able to finally use Pandora (I'm in Canada, so it's blocked)by buddypepper - Offtopic
QuoteSifJarthe OP was not talking about HBC... Ah - well, never the less - it'd be a cool addition to HBC....pointless, yes technically - but one of those things that just makes it that much nicer.by buddypepper - Ideas, requests
Ah - good idea! I second that.....that'd be a nice enhancement to the HBC, in my books.by buddypepper - Ideas, requests
Why don't you just use SMB (File Sharing)? It's built in on pretty much every operating system, and works great with MPlayer....by buddypepper - Homebrew Applications
Stupid question, perhaps - but do you actually have an FTP server running on your PC (or where ever this IP address is pointing to)?by buddypepper - Homebrew Applications
For what it's worth, I had a similar problem with my 16Gb Kingston....this was pre-HBC1.0.3.....I had it wall working fine once (literally, just once) and then once opened HBC the 2nd time, everything stopped working (ie, nothing was listed). I found that HBC seemed to be corrupting my card in some way (the Wii still saw it though - just not HBC). I had managed to fix it a few times by formaby buddypepper - Homebrew General

QuoteteknecalCan everyone try this: It has the latest libogc and libfat from SVN from 2 days ago. I tried it - same error...no such luck.by buddypepper - Homebrew General
QuoteI also tried FCE Ultra GX 3.0.4... Sounds like we've got different problems, for sure then. FCE worked for me - I'll try that beta 2 of HBB tonite and report back.by buddypepper - Homebrew General
Quote1) What HBC version are you using? v1.0.3 Quote2) What IOS version is your HBC using (check main menu) IOS61 v19.26 Quote3) Unplug the power cord, boot HBC. Apps should show up. Don't lauch any app, go to the main menu and select "Reload", do apps still show up then? Works fine - they still show up... QuoteCan you try the SD card test below and report back to me what it says? I've got the same problem (well, similar anyway)....I ran your sd test app, and I get the exact same msg as in the HBB - "Unable to initialise FAT subsystem".....My problem is this - I updated to HBC 1.0.3, and excitedly tried my 16Gb SDHC card to see if it finally worked, which it did (it didn't work with preby buddypepper - Homebrew General
That's what I did - and it all works fine, until I install HBB 0.3 which seems to break everything...by buddypepper - Homebrew Applications
When I try to install the new Homebrew Browser, I get some problems with my HBC....I currently have HBC 1.0.1, and had HBB 0.25d. All was working fine. I've got a 16Gb SDHC card that I've been using, though I'm keeping my 2Gb SD on stand-by (good thing too, as I'll explain). When I updated my HBB to 0.3, it somehow screwed up HBC and stopped it from showing me my list of aby buddypepper - Homebrew Applications
Chalk me up as interested in this - it'd be handy....by buddypepper - Homebrew General
I've had the HBC installed and running homebrew apps for quite a while now....now that the Wii supports SDHC, I'd like to move my stuff from SD to SDHC. Can I just copy everything from my SD card to a new SDHC card without any problems?by buddypepper - Homebrew General
The Wiki says it will connect to a windows box running the win2wii server - Is this not going to work with the standard (and free/opensource) vnc server? Or is the win2wii server just going to be a vnc server with another name? I'm afraid if it doesn't work with VNC Server, it's going to be of no use to me - though maybe someone would be able to use your work to port an actual VNCby buddypepper - Homebrew General
I'm talking a client (aka viewer) - there's not much use to have a vnc server on your Wii.....but being able to run a client would be usefull, for sure. It's certainly not just academic.....a server would be academic, but not a client app.by buddypepper - Homebrew General
Would it be possible for someone to port VNC Viewer to run on the Wii? I realize that you could connect via the internet channel, with the coreect settings, but a native VNC client would be way cooler - maybe with some sort of virtual keyboard.....any takers?by buddypepper - Homebrew General
Wow - funny turn of events....I just stumbled upon this: It's a vista gadget (or rather, where the Vista gadget connects to) for Pandora. It runs a much smaller Flash application than the full blown one.....If I plug this into my PC browser it works...gotta try this on the wii when I get home!! As a bonus, it seems as though they don't have the location based access...I can getby buddypepper - Homebrew General
I'd LOVE to see Pandora on Homebrew! When WiiWare was first being talked about, I was hoping someone would make a Pandora WiiWare app...but that seems to have gone in a strictly-game direction. Then when Homebrew started, I though that maybe it would happen....but still nothing. Now, I'm not much of a coder, so I'm really of no use to this, but here's what I DO know.... - Pby buddypepper - Homebrew General
