I seem to be having a problem with the Homebrew Channel 1.0.1. My Wii isn't bricked but I'm a little worried it could get that way if I don't fix this problem. Anyway the channel worked fine till a couple of days ago. Then when I went into it the hand icon was upside down and the motion controls were completely reversed. I've tried cleaning my sensor bar, the wiimote, changby GoldenAlchemist - Homebrew Applications

The Homebrew Channel is self sustaining, Twilight Hack is useless after you install it so you may as well put your old save back. And I've heard from one guy that his brother started a new game on the Twilight Hack save and it played normally.by GoldenAlchemist - Homebrew General
Well SD cards are cheaper, faster, and more efficient than USB flash drives. Also I don't have wifi so if the Homebrew Channel were to have an update available I would not be able to update it.by GoldenAlchemist - Homebrew General
Pardon me, but doesn't the region changer brick the Wii? Doesn't seem worth trying.by GoldenAlchemist - Homebrew Applications
Quotepzyr0ok, there are several apps with USB support, yet the homebrew channel forces us to boot from crappy, overpriced SD cards. Are they ever going to implement USB support? then i could just wack in a cheapo USB stick with all my apps on and not have to fork out loads of cash if I lose my SD card. Puh..lease, I can get a 2GB SD card cheaper than a 1GB USB flash drive. Also if you lose an Sby GoldenAlchemist - Homebrew General
And you know, if a PSP can emulate the DS I'm pretty sure a Wii will be able to seeing as its a superior system to the PSP.by GoldenAlchemist - Homebrew General
QuoteaxelpaxelWhat about the mic? Most games don't use the mic so thats a triviality.by GoldenAlchemist - Homebrew General
I mentioned in that other topic that there should be a DS emulator for the Wii. The question is, how possible is this? I heard there was one for PSP so Wii should be doable. As for interface I explained how it would work in the other topic. Use the Classic Controller or GameCube controller as primary controller, and use the Wiimote to emulate the Stylus and use the A or B button on the Wiiby GoldenAlchemist - Homebrew General
How can I take a tone when I'm typing? Also no offense intended, I normally just act this way to get laughs out of people, and usually it works.by GoldenAlchemist - Offtopic
Ok Mr. LongAsHellPost, ever looked in the PS1 bin in a Game Stop, looks more like a trash bin than a game bin. Also I was mainly referring to copies of rare games like Final Fantasy VII, Suikoden, and Suikoden II which are extremely difficult to get ahold of and a decent copy of without paying 100 dollars for something that would cost 20 dollars tops if it was still commercially sold. And evenby GoldenAlchemist - Offtopic
Quotenoobwarrior7how about a philips CD-i emulator, its remote is just like a smaller wiimote without motion sensing, and it has a fairly nice library, plus I can't imagine its much trickier to emulate than anything else. Nah CD-I isn't a system worth emulating. If that were to happen then Zelda: Wand of Gamelon would make its way into a Nintendo system. That is an unholy event thaby GoldenAlchemist - Homebrew General
Yes, but it'd be kind of annoying to have to use the Wiimote along with the classic controller, you'd need to put one down to use the other and putting down the controller for a second can get you killed in a lot of gamesby GoldenAlchemist - Offtopic
QuotewhodaresAre you on about the very centre of the top of the classic controller? If so, this isn't a gaming button, it doesn't register any flags on the console. What it does is opens some sort of catch on the reverse of the classic controller, as though there was some belt clip they forgot to market, and it was a way of unclipping it. Its for a grip that is sold for the classicby GoldenAlchemist - Offtopic
QuoteArikadoClassic controller has all the buttons. Gamecube is one button short. Incorrect, Classic controller doesn't have L3 and R3, the joystick buttons don't press down.by GoldenAlchemist - Offtopic
I hope this one gets ready soon. I wants my Zeldas and Banjos on my Wii. TT_TTby GoldenAlchemist - Homebrew Applications
Very As long as the Street Fighter style of games is in discussion why not make a customizable version of M.U.G.E.N for the Wii?by GoldenAlchemist - Homebrew General
USB ports on the Wii aren't USB 2.0, thus too slow to run games off of, maybe from an SD Card. Also that DS thing doesn't seem doable. But loading DS Brew from the Wii via downlaod play sounds awesome but if that were to happen then flashcarts would be pretty useless, except to the people without Wiis.by GoldenAlchemist - Homebrew General
VBA has problems with larger games. Guess there is a file size limitation. What it exactly is is something I don't feel like investigating.by GoldenAlchemist - Homebrew Applications
Its just that Pokemon games are too much for VBA to handle. I use no$gba for Pokemon games.by GoldenAlchemist - Homebrew Applications
QuoteLink_of_HyruleWhether or not this is true this community does not support piracy and it should not be discussed here. Please get back on topic or this thread will most likely be closed. Ok no more piracy talk. But this topic has run its course and went way off topic so go ahead and close it if you want.by GoldenAlchemist - Offtopic
Quotestrongfanmy point is that it will LEAD to piracy. But I must admit, the last time I saw a PSX game new on the shelf was 2 years ago. All emulators lead to piracy, always have, always will. But the PSX is a dead system and its games are no longer manufactured and commercially sold so who gives a rat's ass? Its not like Sony and the game companies that made them are losing any money noby GoldenAlchemist - Offtopic
Quotedaniel_c_wQuoteGoldenAlchemistAlso "pirating" is the only way to get rare games like Final Fantasy VII, Suikoden, and Suikoden II. I've searched far and wide for those and I can only find them online for 100 bucks. so pirating is not the only way Its the only way to get it without having to pay an arm and a leg for a disc that is probably scratched up and unplayable.by GoldenAlchemist - Offtopic
It says put the cheat file in snes9x/cheats, did that, and name the .cht file exactly like the game except with the .cht extension, did that too. So I loaded the emulator and started playing the game but no cheats working and no option to activate them anywhere. I got the cheats right and I did everything like told so what's wrong?by GoldenAlchemist - Homebrew General
QuotestrongfanIt's not really concidered piracy if you can't obtain in any other way. Some stores still sell new PSX games. However no store I have ever seen sells new N64 games. True but none of the PSX games they do sell new are any good. Only reason they have them is probably because they've been on the shelves for years and nobody has bought them and probably never will.by GoldenAlchemist - Offtopic
Quotestrongfantoo bad the only means of doing that is piracy and/or will lead to piracy... Well that's what emulators are for. You don't pop a N64 cart in your Wii when you use Wii64. Edit: Also PS1 is old as dirt and games for it can only be found used in junk bins of stores for 2 bucks and are in crappy condition. It shouldn't even really be considered piracy to downloadby GoldenAlchemist - Offtopic
Quotestrongfanno sarcasm here. EDIT: what type of disk does the PSX use? CD or DVD? ? CD But if a PSX emulator is released I hope it will be able to load the game from the SD card.by GoldenAlchemist - Offtopic
QuotestrongfanFirst things first: Get PSX emulator. The PSX is built on a 32 bit platform. The N64 is built on a 64 bit platform. In other words, the N64 is twice as powerful as the PSX. We already have a crappy N64 emulator that runs at half speed(also, I hear that the next version of Wii64 is already complete and has full framerate but the devs are to lazy to release it), so we can easilyby GoldenAlchemist - Offtopic
QuoteHyperHackerPotential problem: some PS2 games are on CD-ROM; the Wii can only read DVD. It's not a big problem, because you can use ISOs or an external drive, but it kinda kills the effect. :P (Being able to stick an actual PS2 disc in your Wii and play it would be pretty awesome.) What PS2 game are you looking at? All my Playstation 2 games say DVD-ROM.by GoldenAlchemist - Offtopic
QuoteLink_of_HyruleWell I really think it would be cool the see a ps2 emulator play kingdom hearts and such on Wii but as you people have said i needs some good coders to do so I'm sure there is a ps2 emu already made that can be ported to Wii. Well PCSX2 is the only one I know of with an open source code. I heard that it functions better than the other PS2 emus. I haven't tried it foby GoldenAlchemist - Offtopic
