You don't need BootMii but it can be helpful to have a backup of your Wii's memory. For most homebrew apps it is harmless if they crash. Emulators won't brick your Wii. If you'd like, you can still install BootMii without doing anything to your existing Homebrew channel. All you have to do is run the HackMii Installer again, either from an exploit or from the homebrew channel.by bg4545 - Homebrew General
The google code service has transferred to github, but you can find the releases here and here.by bg4545 - Getting Started
QuotePartmanpartmythHi TooSpecial, I have the exact same problem! Have updating to 4.3 and using letterbomb work for you? Thanks in advance! That is what you have to do in order for it to work.by bg4545 - Getting Started
I believe it can, but I don't know how.by bg4545 - Homebrew General
At the moment, the Wii U Gamecube adapter is not supported by most, if not all, homebrew apps. I think your best bet would be to buy a Wii Classic Controller (the kind that plugs into the Wii remote). Also, there's no need to bump a thread when it's already the most recent...by bg4545 - Homebrew General
It sounds like you tried installing more than just the homebrew channel. Homebrew by itself won't brick a vWii.by bg4545 - FixMii
Well first of all there's only a limited number of Wii's that can read normal DVDs. Second of all, since it's really quite simple to get a computer DVD drive and rip movies that way, I see no point in using the Wii to do so. You'd have to write a lot of code to get it to work, whereas tools already exist for computers.by bg4545 - Ideas, requests
For that it sounds like you're talking about a Wii U emulator, which would use a Wii U gamepad. Sure it could be possible but that'd be a lot of work.by bg4545 - Wii U - Wii Mode
It's safe to use Letterbomb again, just start the process over from the beginning.by bg4545 - Homebrew General
The "Wii" folder should be inside the "private" folder, so create a "private" folder and put the "wii" folder in it.by bg4545 - Getting Started
We don't support "backup" games.by bg4545 - Homebrew General
Quotejokkergsmi have the same problem, except mine was allready softmoded but i couldn't install priiloader so i tried factory reset and now when i try to mod back it is stuck at scam screen i tried updating but it is allready the latest version 4.3u i allready tried 3 sd cards, including the one that worked the first time this is the log : [...] 10x in advance ! Even though it's freeware I don't believe it's open source so it could not be ported to the Wii.by bg4545 - Ideas, requests
Since you removed the System Menu there is no way to fix it other than using hardware to flash a new NAND dump. It cannot be fixed via savemiifrii or modchip.by bg4545 - FixMii
Software-wise it should be safe to update but I can't help at all regarding the wiikey. This is not a modchip support forum.by bg4545 - Homebrew General
You should still be able to get to BootMii as boot2 correct? You can try using "ohneschwanzenegger" to create a new working NAND.bin. You can find that on my website here:by bg4545 - FixMii
In my opinion it would be better to update your Homebrew Channel to the latest version, and then update your Wii to the latest version. If you don't have the newest Homebrew Channel already, you can use the HackMii Installer to install it and then just run a System Update afterwards.by bg4545 - Homebrew General
Make sure you have the latest version of the HackMii Installer from here:by bg4545 - Wii U - Wii Mode
The newer Wii's (without Gamecube ports) are physically incapable of reading Gamecube game discs. You have to get either a new Gamecube, or an older Wii.by bg4545 - Homebrew General
Try the version from here:by bg4545 - Homebrew Applications
Private message me with your question if you'd like however I believe the forum rules are stated pretty clearly.by bg4545 - Getting Started
I don't understand your question. What game progress?by bg4545 - Getting Started
You have to read the value from sysconf, if it is 0 then it's 4:3 (standard) and if it is 1 then it's 16:9 (widescreen). I believe there's a function part of libogc that lets you do that (should be in conf.c i think?) which is something like: s32 SYSCONF_Get(const char *name, void *buffer, u32 length) { u8 *entry; s32 len; if(!__sysconf_inited) return SYSCONF_ENOTINIT;by bg4545 - Coding
Yeah, I would say there's just not as much interest in the Wii anymore, especially from developers. Most have moved on to other platforms, or just on with their lives in general. I know I personally don't come on to the forums as much as I used to and there isn't as many people posting, asking questions (at least the one's I can answer..), or creating new content. It may be due to WiiConnect24 being dropped; Looking at the app's source I believe that was how it sent messages to the Wii Message Board.by bg4545 - Homebrew Applications
Well the "apps" folder is only for when you already have the Homebrew Channel. If you are trying to install the Homebrew Channel, the HackMii Installer's "boot.elf" file should be on your SD card and not in any folders. Then run whatever exploit you are using such as Letterbomb.by bg4545 - Getting Started
Updating should be perfectly safe. The only chance of bricking is if there's a power failure at exactly the wrong moment.by bg4545 - Getting Started
No you don't. You only need the SD card in the Wii whem you want to run homebrew or you may use a USB drive to store homebrew apps.by bg4545 - Getting Started
