Thank you for that. Meanwhile, the basic issue for me is simple: I am trying to run ROMS off a DVD. It sounds like the only choices are SD card or USB. Is there a version of Wii64 that can work with the modern DVD access system? If not, is there a way I can install the older version that Wii64 wants?by keybounce - Homebrew Applications
Then the question is: 1. Is there a 2.0 release? I've seen links, but they are all dead/not found. 2. Is there a way to get 1.1 to work? I have 3.2 and an old (early) wii.by keybounce - Homebrew Applications

I am unable to get Wii64, version 2, to load from the DVD. If I attempt it, it tells me that DVDXv2 is not found. I thought that the old DVDX channel was killed, and homebrew now had direct access to the DVD. How do I get this to work? Homebrew browser did not list a newer version.by keybounce - Homebrew Applications
Boy, can something be misunderstood. 1. Any item X can be marked as "do not copy". If it doesn't have that mark, then it can be copied without any problem. Right now, most savefiles are clear; all Mii's and Channels are not. If you want to get technical, fine: Mii's are not marked as "do not copy", they just store enough information to tell if they are copied or not. Stillby keybounce - Homebrew General
Sorry, I didn't know that this was "dead". Now, I have a challenge for you. I had to downgrade system menu to 3.4 just now. Please tell me how to do this on 4.3: I wanted to copy Mario Kart save data, as well as other "non copyable" save data. I discovered that Gecko 1.9 is supposed to be able to do that -- IF you go to the rebooter options screen, and say "Remove Copy Flags", and tby keybounce - Getting Started
Quotebg4545Any app that would allow you to copy channels from one Wii to another would promote piracy. That's not a valid claim. Some channels -- virtual console games, etc -- would be locked. Others? Netflix, Homebrew Channel, WiiMC, WiiFit channel -- that's just off the top of my head. Heck, add MarioKart channel. I attempted to save a channel from one wii onto an SD card, and then load it on a different wii. The new wii says it cannot load the channel. Turns out that every channel behaves that way -- even things like "Mario kart channel" or "Netflix". Or "WiiMC". I could understand the stuff that you pay for being protected -- but this is stuff that is free. (Or, for one demo, no longer available).by keybounce - Homebrew General
I just got a used wii off Ebay. It has no signs of any homebrew on it. It does have a couple of downloaded games. Installing homebrew channel/browser was no problem. It had an older boot1 and boot2, and got bootmii/boot2. When I go to Data Management -> Channels, I see a channel marked by a question mark, size 10 blocks. I have no idea what it is, nor how to tell what it is. Any ideaby keybounce - Homebrew General
QuoteSifJarWhy on earth do you feel there is any benefit to being on 3.4? There is no downside to updating to 4.3. System Menu is completely irrelevant on ability to run homebrew. Quotejbc007The shop channel clearly does not like the IOS that it is using. Perhaps this is caused by some sort of bug in DOP-Mii. Download the latest revision of the shop channel and IOS 56 with NUS Downloader, and have it pack them into WADs. Install these WADs. Is there a step by step for this somewhere? I have homebrew browser and channel installed. Previously I had installled a system upgrade from the Wii Fit plus disc (4.0, I think), and later from the Netflix disc (4.1). Alright, I found some information at What I did: After installing a patched 15, and using that to patch 36, I ran Dop-Mii. I used Dop-mii to remove any stubs, and patch almost all other stubs (that could be patched, anyways) with the patches. I'm trying to get information about Sneek. From what I understand, it uses the SD card instead of NAND, which -- among other things -- should be a perfect brick prevention system. Any change that you want to make to the system is first made under sneek, and only if it doesn't cause problems is it then done to the NAND.
