QuoteLink_of_HyruleIt doesn't require "DIVx" it require "DVDx" which is completely different its a library that enabled the Wii to read DVDs in homebrew with out a modchip. I've found it works perfectly fine with most DVDs. Its not possible to play DVDs on the Wii in any application with out it. Think of DVDx as a sort of driver that enables code already on the Wii to activates a DVDVidby Videogamer - Homebrew Applications
QuoteArikado@CLXrsist On the computer - through a site that lets you download those isos (DON'T SAY THAT, IT'S PIRACY) Onto the SanDisk - copy, paste or send Onto the Wii - install the emulator, put the isos in a special folder in the root If you want to get the game on your computer LEGALLY you will put your STORE BOUGHT Sega Saturn disk in the computer (this is BEFORE theyby Videogamer - Homebrew General
I'm antipiracy too. But I want to be able to play my ISO's of backups of games I own.by Videogamer - The Junkyard
But it requires DIVx crap. I want a STRAIGHT OUT DVD player for the Wii (like Xbox Media Center on the Xbox).by Videogamer - Homebrew Applications
Sorry, but after I bought my wireless USB stick thing for the WiFi connection, I could NEVER get it to work right with SSB:Brawl. So now I'm going to get the wired Wii LAN Adapter so I can plug my Wii directly into my high-speed cable internet modem. Maybe then I'll be able to do that online stuff.by Videogamer - Homebrew Applications
I'm good at making programs IN basic. I'm NOT good at writing a whole NEW version of basic.by Videogamer - Offtopic
I got Ocarina and used it to take out more than 300 enemies in "Cruel Brawl", beat 1 player classic mode on "insane" (highest difficulty) with my stock count set to ONLY 1 life while using no continues, and hit more than TEN THOUSAND feet in the "Homerun Contest". Yeah, I'm sure all this is setting high score records. And it's all thanks to Ocarina (steroids for SSB:Brawl).by Videogamer - Homebrew Applications
Does anyone know of a true homebrew DVD player software that was made for the Wii?by Videogamer - Homebrew Applications
So if my disk is "Trucha signed" then all I need is a homebrew special booting app (like Gecko OS) to run it? Whereas if the disk was "unsigned" then I would need a modchip to play the same disk? That's what I got from this. But please tell me if I'm mistaken. And can someone tell me where I can get a program that either makes ISOs with trucha signing or else can add trucha signinby Videogamer - Homebrew General
QuoteWiiPhlexThe dolphin emulator can mount dol and elf files, although still in development I believe there is a release. ) I've tried Dolphin, and while it will load GC games into memory, the window which is supposed to display an image displays NOTHING. QuotewhodaresThere are plenty of variants of BASIC, and I agree, some only had GOTO and GOSUB (which are what functions technically are anyway). QBASIC/QuickBASIC definately had them QuoteArikadoSo you're gonna do all that work just to make and play text applications or primitive graphics applications? Why do you assume you'll only be able to do "primitive graphics" in BASIC? Iby Videogamer - Offtopic
QuoteAdr990I tested some DVD's too: Wii info: Wii PAL (from 3.3 to 3.2)(yes thanks to wanin) Mod chip Wiikey I installed patch_me Di patch I did install : patch_mii ... Why does everybody DOWNGRADE from their system from 3.3 to 3.2? As far as I know, 3.3 works FINE with Twilight hack (I did it with version 3.3U). And why always 3.2? Why not 3.1 or 3.0? I have lots of homebrew games I have downloaded that I want to use on my Wii. But before I do, I want to test them (to see if it is worth putting on the Wii). This way I wouldn't waste time putting something on my Wii that later I wouldn't want anyway. So do you know if there is a Wii emulator that will let me test homebrew Wii games on my computer?by Videogamer - Testing Corner
You all are confusing what I said. You seem to think I want BASIC that would run BAS files on the Wii. I NEVER said that. I said I want a BASIC that AFTER one writes their program in the BASIC, they could then compile a boot.elf file (instead of the more typical *.EXE file).by Videogamer - Offtopic
From what that guy said above, ONLY the wireless one is banned (not the wired one). But they CAN'T ban the wired one anyway, because then they would have to recall ALL of the ones in circulation too. Without GC controllers, the ENTIRE GC system itself would be completely USELESS.by Videogamer - Homebrew General
Has anybody made a BASIC programing language that will compile Wii executables (boot.ELF files)? I know that QBASIC and Visual BASIC will compile PC executables (EXE files). But is there a Wii BASIC anywhere?by Videogamer - Offtopic
Could someone link me to their site? And does anyone know if someone is making a port of MUGEN for Wii?by Videogamer - Homebrew General
QuoterokujouNintendo already released an update once that removed the twilight hack and fixed the Trucha bug. Team Twiizers were able to change the twilight hack to work around the bug. If any games need updates, you can just install the update from the game. In any case, as soon as you see a message for an update, check online and find out if it affects anything. If it does, it wouldn'by Videogamer - Homebrew General
QuotetonaBricking only happens if you change something a bootloader or the System Menu needs to boot. For 99% of homebrew, this can never happen. Only homebrew that deliberately messes with such things has a chance to do this, and those homebrew usually have warnings on them. A semi-brick is when your System Menu's region does not match your console's pre-defined region. This is fby Videogamer - Homebrew General
I've got 3.3U. There's no way I'm going to downgrade. I'll just use other "freeloader" type software to boot my foreign games.by Videogamer - Homebrew Applications
Currently it only is on the PC (not Wii). Here is a DIRECT DOWNLOAD link to the program. Click here to download bin2jpg And this one looks nicer anyways. Click here to download SSBBconverterby Videogamer - Homebrew General
If I only saw 2 more homebrew apps released, for number 1, I would want a port of MUGEN (a fully customizable fighting game for the PC) to come to the Wii. And I would want it to be compatible with WindowsMUGEN characters, stages, and music. For number 2, I would want to see a GOOD Playstation 1 emulator on the Wii. I have ePSXe on my computer and it ROCKS! If that could be ported to the Wii Iby Videogamer - Homebrew General
My current Nintendo OS on the Wii is version 3.3U. It probably is pretty easy to make an upgrade that makes modchips fail, but it is probably hard for Nintendo to make an upgrade that could beat a softmod (like Twilight Hack + Homebrew Channel). So I feel that for most future upgrades, there won't be any problem with the homebrew "scene". In fact I accept ALL official upgrades from Nintendo,by Videogamer - Homebrew General
I keep hearing that doing various things can "brickwall" the Wii. It sounds like a really BAD thing. But what is it? How does it happen? And how can I avoid it? Sorry for asking, but I'm kinda a noob at this stuff.by Videogamer - Homebrew General
I would like to install Debian Linux on my Wii. However when I downloaded and unziped it, I see LOTS of directories and LOTS of files. Could you please tell me which one to put in the "apps" directory for booting by Homebrew Channel, and which ones to put in the root directory of my SD card?by Videogamer - Homebrew Applications
