good is a relative term. Do you mean "good for a virtual boy game" or "good game at the time" or what? Because if you mean "Good for a virtual boy" game, then any of those games could be the best, seeing as only like a dozen games came out for it XPby CloneDeath - Ideas, requests
The DS homebrew scene is dead. not the Wii. I wrote a whole thing about any trace of blood movement being caused because of the earth's magnetic field or something for the DS. The Wii is dieing, this coming from how much activity has died down from a year ago. Anyhow, I like making games for the Wii, and since I am bored and unable to work on the current project right now, I decided to flby CloneDeath - Ideas, requests
CodeMii isn't THAT bad. Granted, half of the tutorials are out of date and just blatantly don't work/compile (thank you libogc updates :D!) but really, it is the concepts that they need to learn. If someone is silly enough to just copy-paste code from a tutorial and expect it to work exactly like they want just deserves to have it fail :P Edit: to put the above in an appropriate quoby CloneDeath - Ideas, requests
I <3 Liquid wars. That is a game I made sure I had on Kubuntu. There is no "universal" way to port stuff, unfortunately. There are several methods, and for a begining project like this, I think the best would be to analyze and error-test. 1. I assume the game uses openGL. in that case, make sure you have gl2gx. 2. Try to compile the game. You will undoubtably get an error saying "by CloneDeath - Ideas, requests
QuoteiofthestormI love it when people go "Why hasn't anyone tried to port X to the Wii?" Usually, the answer is because most of these programs don't run in a void, but they depend on the operating system to do a lot of things for them. Any porting effort would likely end up rewriting large ports of an OS, which would not be fun. Porting isn't some magic process where you just giveby CloneDeath - Ideas, requests
How I would do it is just compile it, including the main.c. Then, copy all the .o for each .cpp file and each .h for each .cpp file, and zip them all together. I dunno, I never really made a static library, I write all my own code and just copy the .cpp and .h generic files over between projects, so.... +shrugs+ it works. If I wanted to try a static library, the above is how I would go about tby CloneDeath - Coding
Ok, well I learned early on when making roguelike games for the PC, that you DO NOT want to use an array to represent a map. While it may seem intuitive, it actually leads to so many problems down the road. Instead, do a 1D array (or a vector, preferably) that just stores the pointers to objects, and in each object store the X,Y coordinates of the object. I say a vector because then you doby CloneDeath - Coding
QuoteSifJarQuotealainveyQuoteSifJarThis would be pretty cool I agree. It's at times like this I wish I knew how to program. I am trying to learn C++, but I doubt I'll be porting a flash player to the Wii anytime soon ;). I wrote a program which displayed an image and played some music. It even had a wiimote cursor. If we team up on this, we'll be unstoppable: the next Team Twby CloneDeath - Ideas, requests
based on his previous posts, I conclude he is not a native english speaker, or he is 10 years old. Seeing as a 10yo can't program, he probably doesn't speak english. I think if you look at "shared" library, the closest thing would be a DLL... I think... or maybe he wants to know how to "share" a library... anyone else wanna try and interpret him?by CloneDeath - Coding
I would recomend against libwiisprite. yes, it works. If you are new to C++, go ahead and use it. But, after working with the guy who made it (either Chaostiel I think his name was, it was when homebrew first broke out) on a game, I realized there were some hardcore flaws in his library. He is a C++ snob and the way he and beardface programs are what causes a majority of problems for the hoby CloneDeath - Coding
lol, there is no magic "convert_bmp_to_easycollidable_array_of_objects()" function. I hate to say this, but to ruin your hopes and dreams: -Programming isn't magic -Standard official C++ isn't as standard and official as you would think.
