I happen to have an external USB DVD Drive, a keyboard and a mouse, I'll give it a shot with them unplugged and I'll get back to you on the outcome Thanks Cheersby mugre1975 - Homebrew Applications
There's no more than what you're seeing there, no Stack Dump information at the bottom of the screen (I cropped the image just to make it lighter, there was nothing else there). I'm running the latest HBC version on IOS 58, loading from my 4GB SHDC (also tried it from a 2GB SD), plus my 4.2U Wii is up to date according to the latest version of Pimp My Wii. Ok, now I'm confident network initialized properly and I still get this crash: Hope it helps Cheersby mugre1975 - Homebrew Applications
That's not my case as I tried to load it only with its original Wiimote, anyway I did not tried to wait until the HBC's network interface is properly initialized before loading it. Will do tonight to see if that's my problem, or to rule that cause out of my list. Cheersby mugre1975 - Homebrew Applications
Thanks, but the reference you're giving me is kinda vague... Do you remember the post topic, or something like that?by mugre1975 - Homebrew Applications
Outstanding! Thanks! I'll sure give it a try!by mugre1975 - Homebrew Applications
I got the same crash messages on the new versions of Genplus GX (1.4.1) and Dosbox (1.5), although there's no "no_ios_reload" line in none of them xml files. I tried loading them through the last version of HBC (not quite sure if I waited enough time for the network to initialize), I also tried loading them using a forwarder, and a channel, and I had no luck in any case. That shouldn't be the problem, anyhow set them up! dpkg-reconfigure locales And while you're at it, check out: dpkg-reconfigure tzdata (sets your timezone) dpkg-reconfigure consoledata (sets your keyboard layout)by mugre1975 - Wii Linux
Did this part go well? 6) Compile video drivers (don't know if this step is really necesary, I did it anyway): cvs -d:pserver:anonymous@gc-linux.cvs.sourceforge.net:/cvsroot/gc-linux login (It will prompt you for a password, just press enter) cvs -z3 -d:pserver:anonymous@gc-linux.cvs.sourceforge.net:/cvsroot/gc-linux co -P xf86-video-cube cd xf86-video-cube ./configure && makeby mugre1975 - Wii Linux
Did you install everything? You didn't get any weird messages? Have you checked the names of the packages you installed? They have to be the exact same thing (case sensitive) or it won't work. Where does it fail? Please provide more info so that I can helpby mugre1975 - Wii Linux
I'll post the reply I was given to solve this problem, just in case somebody comes across the same thing To fix this you have to recompile the kernel: Start with the kernel configuration of your actual kernel image. To get your kernel configuration just boot into your whiite linux installation and do a: zcat /proc/config.gz > /tmp/my_kernel_config.txt This will create a fileby mugre1975 - Wii Linux
Fair enough, let's start First of all, you must have a wifi connection running and your wireless card must be properly configured (if you haven't run it yet, run /root/whiite-ez-wifi-config to configure it) 1) Let's fix a bug that comes with Whiite, type: chown -R man /usr/share/man 2) Do an initial update of the system, type: apt-get update apt-get upgrade (confirmby mugre1975 - Wii Linux
I did the whole installation using Ubuntu Live CD (it boots from the CD, no installation needed, no alteration to your PC whatsoever) You should give that a go, it's pretty simple, download the CD image from Ubuntu's web site, burn it, and boot from it. Then choose "Try Ubuntu" and you're off, from then on follow the tutorials to partition your SD and get your Wii Linux running.by mugre1975 - Wii Linux
You do have a display problem, which indeed can only be fixed by editing the xorg.conf file. You don't need to have linux on your computer to do so, just download any version of live CD linux (which boots and works from the CD without altering your PC), and get it done there. I'd recommend you use Ubuntu Live CD, it's pretty simple. I came across this same problem and I coulby mugre1975 - Wii Linux
I'd recommed you search and follow The_Marioga's tutorial in order to install the X11 Server and Fluxbox (not really a GUI but a Windows Manager, works the same though). Once you get it running you can install a light browser like Iceweasel, an Msn client as Pidgin, and some other cool tools, like conky which keeps you informed of your system status at all times (processes running, mby mugre1975 - Wii Linux
I'm using the latest version of Whiite apt-get worked out fine for me, I'm kinda of a newbie too, but following some tutorials I managed to install Fluxbox (search for The_Marioga's tutorial on it, works great!), conky, and some other apps no problem. Desktops like Gnome or KDE won't run on your Wii because they consume a lot of resources which your wii does not have. It alby mugre1975 - Wii Linux
Hi everyone I seem to be having a problem no one had before (or so I think). I'm running the latest version of whiite on my wii, with a Fluxbox desktop, and this last few days I've been trying to workaround DVD playback capability using xine-ui and an external USB DVD recorder (Samsung), which seems to be SCSI. Anyway, I know by now that I should create a link that makes /dev/dvdby mugre1975 - Wii Linux
Problem is when you have a DVD video, and can't play it because you have to rip it to do so... So what's the point in having a DVD reader in your console if it can't play DVD movies? Thanks for all te replies by the way Cheersby mugre1975 - Homebrew General
I have a 4.2U Wii, with a D3-2 DVD Drive I'd like to know if there is any application that can play DVD Movies through an external USB DVD drive in DVD format (not ISO Thanks Regardsby mugre1975 - Homebrew General
