Alright, I've found the solution to my friend's older Wii system. I tried Wilbrand and it worked like a charm. If any of you are having problems with your MAC addresses being refused, download and try Wilbrand. If it doesn't work as well, the problem is probably in your SD card somewhere. Either the method in which it is formatted/partitioned or just the type that it is.by d3m0n1q_733rz - Homebrew General
Yeah, I found out the update didn't block letterbomb. For some reason, my 2GB card that works fine for everything else needed a total reformat and I had to use my SDHC card to get it working. But I didn't claim it was a new update, I just said an update that runs on 4.3. As it turns out, the update made a few changes to supposedly make the system more stable, as they put it, and suppby d3m0n1q_733rz - Homebrew General
There has been an update. I was on System Menu 4.3U and was prompted to run an update once I set the wifi settings to use my wifi connection. I don't know what it was for, but I do know that I couldn't run the Letterbomb after that. It was most likely just an IOS update for channels or something though. And requesting pictures on sites that don't allow file uploading or evenby d3m0n1q_733rz - Homebrew General
Hey, I noticed that there's an update for menu 4.3 that runs when 4.3 is already installed. I think it might block the letterbomb method, but I'm not 100% on it. All I know is that I'm working on an LU75 and it's not running it. MAC is correct, time and date directories are correct as far as I can tell, SD card is formatted properly and I can transfer game saves to and froby d3m0n1q_733rz - Homebrew General
Hmm, sounds like the installer is crashing. That mumbo-jumbo is a data dump to determine the problem. However, it doesn't do us or you any good. It should restart. Try downloading the latest bootmii installer and replacing the boot.elf file in the root directory of your SD card. Hopefully, that should work.by d3m0n1q_733rz - Homebrew General
To reiterate what Sifjar was saying about WBFS, it's only used as a filesystem to play backups which isn't condoned here. So it won't be of help to you. As for multiple USB drives, you would be better off using your computer to transfer files back and forth. I can't think of any Wii apps that allow files to be transferred like that and most apps will only pay attention to tby d3m0n1q_733rz - Homebrew General
Hello, I was wondering if there is a method to modify Letterbomb for use on another console by changing the MAC address without having to redownload the zip file again? I ask this because the MAC address for my friend's Wii is not being recognized by please.hackmii.com and I've received no answers as to a resolution to this problem in the past. So, since the prefix won't be addedby d3m0n1q_733rz - Homebrew General
One of the biggest problems I've seen with this site is the lack of consideration of its members by its moderators. In particular, I'm constantly getting onto SifJar for being a total asshole towards people other than myself. They're constantly removing posts simply because they don't think it's helpful as though they're supposed to decide EVERYTHING in the world.by d3m0n1q_733rz - Feedback & Support
Just so you know, this hasn't been resolved as of yet.by d3m0n1q_733rz - Homebrew General
The problem I'm talking about is at startup when there's only a partial nand.bin backup present due to a failure of some sort.by d3m0n1q_733rz - Homebrew General
Okay, so someone recently requested help with BootMii after having it stop part-way through and say that the SD card was full. This, in turn, gave a partial NAND backup. Unfortunately, BootMii appears to have difficulty starting when some files not required for boot are corrupt. So, the best practice is to delete all files in the SD card related to BootMii including the partial nand backup andby d3m0n1q_733rz - Homebrew General
The truth is, if you change anything on your Wii, you run the risk of bricking it. But that's not something to really worry about. The hacks, these days, are made to be safer to your system (generally speaking). If you have HBC up-to-date, then it will say there's no need to update until you've installed 4.3 as you already have it installed and running as good as it can on suchby d3m0n1q_733rz - Getting Started
Actually, I think it was in how the data is entered in the UID.sys file. I'm not 100% on the details, but some games in another region had problems with this. I wish I could remember who it was that found this. But it's not a region check, it's a lack of a certain variable that's recorded. As for the other programs, okay. It's difficult to tell where the line lies wiby d3m0n1q_733rz - Getting Started

Hey, I was just wondering if SNEEK supports 64KB sectors or not. I've found some conflicting resources and I really don't like reformatting everything to find out. Would appreciate the help. Thanks!by d3m0n1q_733rz - Homebrew General
Perhaps a basic tutorial of the SD card layout is in order? Judging by your troubles and how you said you've just installed the Homebrew Channel, you're new to the world of Wii Homebrew. Welcome! ^_^ To begin, all applications (homebrew) will be put into their own sub-folder within APPS in your SD card or USB drive. For example, if you were to use dop-mii--and as SifJar pointed oby d3m0n1q_733rz - Getting Started
While yes, it will void your warranty, you can decrease your chances of this problem by using SNEEK or UNEEK after you install the homebrew channel. The problem is that, should you need to service your Wii, there's really no point in trying to get things back to the way they were before hand as doing so would mean you wouldn't need to service it anymore. As for how they know that itby d3m0n1q_733rz - Getting Started
If you're saying that IOS58 was a part of system menu 4.2 and can't be the problem because HBC is dependant upon it to function properly, I think you need to do your homework a little better. IOS58 was a part of 4.3 and is installed with it. Since HBC worked on version 4.2 system menu and version 4.2 of the menu is currently installed, IOS58 might not be functioning properly and HBC mby d3m0n1q_733rz - Homebrew General
Yeah, well if HBC was working just fine and reading the USB before the IOS and HBC replacement, it makes a lot more sense to run a syscheck and find out what version of the IOS etc. is running than try to recompile HBC to work with something that it was already working with in the first place. Remember that they used IOS58 installer instead of installing menu version 4.3. My fix was to installby d3m0n1q_733rz - Homebrew General
Did nobody stop to think that some patches might have been applied to IOS58 that didn't work quite right?by d3m0n1q_733rz - Homebrew General
To anyone who's having difficulty with loading your games on 4.3 software and is still getting the disk update message, try Priiloader and disable disk update messages. This will allow your games to be played from the Wii Menu directly instead of requiring another loader.by d3m0n1q_733rz - Homebrew General

I sent and e-mail to IEEE about the discrepancy and here's their reply (It's possible for two companies to use the same prefix): Dear Sir, Per question received below, as shown, Medicis Technologies Corporation is what we currently have registered. "Now WiiMC works well (loads both from USB and SD), but Homebrew doesn't work from USB. It sees the disc, because I can select it, but doesn't find the apps in it. From SD it works fine." The boot.elf files need to be in the apps folder. If WiiMC works from the USB, then you're good to go. Yeah, I was just trying to tell them to try something they didn't already try. For example, making sure the apps are in the right folder or something along those lines.by d3m0n1q_733rz - Homebrew General
Reinstalling the system menu with Dop-Mii replaces the main IOSes that they'll need (including IOS58). It's about as risky as replacing IOS58 and done the same way. It won't remove HBC and you can download ModMii to replace what you need.by d3m0n1q_733rz - Homebrew General
Run Dop-mii --> reinstall 4.3 menu --> Reinstall HBC from HBC or exploit (whichever is easier for you) to use the IOS58 again. Should fix your problem. It could also be that the USB drive is incompatible.by d3m0n1q_733rz - Homebrew General
