This kinda continues off of the closed topic started by Dan Aykroyd about whether HBC uses Nintendo code, but is more general. The rules state that: - Information about how to install or make pirated copies of downloadable Wii content. ...is a banned topic. However, WADs come in many forms, including channel versions of emulators, which would be perfectly legal save for any possible copyrby Spoom - Feedback & Support
Erm... only if they steal banner code, which they're forced to because the banner tools and exploit used by HBC haven't been released (for better or worse). Frankly, it's nice to be able to have homebrew programs as channels. It removes a step from accessing them.by Spoom - Homebrew General
I really doubt Team Twiizers will help in any way with a WAD installer or anything allowing channel installation other than HBC, which isn't open source AFAIK. Unless Waninkoko finds something, Nintendo may well have killed general channel installation on the Wii with this update.by Spoom - Homebrew General
I, in my tired state early this morning, installed the update. I already had HBC, HBB, and DVDX installed. No, it won't delete HBC or DVDX. No, it won't remove any channels you've already got installed, regardless of their legality, and they will all continue to work (other than channels which exist to install something else, as noted below). Yes, it will block any fakesiby Spoom - Homebrew General
AFAIK homebrew programs on the SD card aren't affected by this at all, assuming you already have the Homebrew Channel. They're not signed to begin with and don't have to be; only the Homebrew Channel itself needs to be installed and it can branch execution to the rest of them. And ROMs have nothing to do with that in any case, so you should be fine. This affects the installationby Spoom - Homebrew General

Piracy is not allowed here. Backup loaders allow piracy. QED. Edit: If you want a more piracy friendly forum, may I suggest Googling like the rest of us?by Spoom - The Junkyard
I'm pretty sure copyright is implicit in any Berne Convention countries, which is pretty much the entire first world.by Spoom - Homebrew General
I really like this idea, and it doesn't sound like it would take that much effort to code. I'd offer to try myself if it was open.by Spoom - Homebrew General
In response to the original question, probably not. That said, if Team Twiizers is in the US, they're likely breaking the anti-circumvention provisions of the DMCA. In a larger sense, I think it's a bit over the top to get all morally indignant about WAD tools / libraries here. I understand that homebrew in general doesn't want to be associated with piracy, but tools from oneby Spoom - Homebrew General
The above is correct only if you haven't installed the most recent update. If you have, you can't install WADs (i.e. channels, with the exception of HBC) at all until someone releases a new installer.by Spoom - Homebrew General
