Okayn thanks. But why does it say "use with caution" then?by Dark_Wolf101 - Homebrew Applications
And yet the MPlayer CE allows me to play DVDs without it? Is there a way to play DVDs on WiiMC without installing IOS 202, because I've tried and I got a message telling me to install a trucha bug, which I'm not really interested in, since it will change my Wii operating system, and could be dangerous. It's not that big of a deal, since the MPlayer CE works fine, I just prefer theby Dark_Wolf101 - Homebrew Applications

Can anyone help? :)by Dark_Wolf101 - Homebrew Applications
G'day! I've downloaded the latest WiiSX from the Homebrew Browser, and I've placed at least 3 different sets of .bin/.cue files into the appropriate folder on my SD card, but the program seems unable to load them. I've tried every conceivable combination (standard/analogue controller; dynamic/interpretive; .bin/.cue of the same file), and it seems to load fine, right up untilby Dark_Wolf101 - Homebrew Applications

I know it says discussion of ROMS will "get you banned", but does that include NES/SNES/N64, etc. games that you play on an emulator. The reason I ask is because, obviously emulators can be downloaded directly through the Homebrew Channel, and the Wiki pages contain game compatibility lists, so it seems somewhat at odds that discussion of these games in the Wiki forums would not be allowed. I re-downloaded, and I've got it working now. Thanks guys!by Dark_Wolf101 - Homebrew General
Hmm... thanks Daid.by Dark_Wolf101 - Homebrew General
I've seen emulators like SNES9x, Wii64 and WiiSX with their channel on the Wii Menu, and I was wondering how one might go about doing this? At the momment I can only access through the Homebrew Channel via my SD card. Thanks!by Dark_Wolf101 - Homebrew General
Quotecactusjack901There's a Wiki for that exact reason, my friend. No offense, but if you don't want to read, you really shouldn't have gotten involved in this stuff. I've read the Wiki articles, but to a lay-person like myself reading a wall of code, or warning messages are a little daunting.by Dark_Wolf101 - Homebrew General

I tried to install IOS 202 (whatever that is), in order to install the WiiMC, but I got an error message saying: "Could not find a vulnerable IOS! Run Trucha Bug Restorer or Dop-IOS MOD to install one." Is this normal? What should I do? Thanks!by Dark_Wolf101 - Homebrew General
I followed the intructions from the WiiBrew wiki page - download this file, and then extract it's contents into your SD card. I then plugged it into my Wii, checked the SD menu and checked Homebrew Channel, and nothing happened. I pressed "1" and clicked on the SD card button, but to no avail. Do I need to download something else before this will work? I would download straight from the Homeby Dark_Wolf101 - Homebrew General
Okay, I just installed the Homebrew Channel and the DVDx from my SD card. Now, are those two channels wholly located on my console (i.e. can I delete the install files off my SD card)? I realize the DVDx channel is a hidden channel that simply allows you to play DVDs on a media player, but what media apps do you guys recommend? The WiiMC looks pretty good to me. I've seen that you're able to download almost every video game emulator up till N64 and PSX. What is the quality like for these emulators (i.e. graphically, frame-rate,etc.)? And is there much of a games selection? For example, are there roms of GoldenEye 007 or Banjo-Kazooie? Is it possible to use the GameCube and Classic Controller for roms, and are there any FPS's that support Wby Dark_Wolf101 - Homebrew General
I.e. Wii's in Australia and Europe. The reason I ask is because my System Menu is 4.2 and the WiiBrew wiki page states that it "is an exploit from Comex that uses a flaw in the custom stages in Super Smash Bros. Brawl (NTSC)." Do I need to seek out a specific PAL version of the install file? Or try my luck with the updated Bannerbomb code? Thanks!by Dark_Wolf101 - Getting Started

Thanks for your response Arikado, but I thought the whole point of last years 4.1/4.2 Firmware update was to remove modification software and brick modified console. There's even a disclaimer of it when you download the update. Do you mean to say it would only brick Wii's that have been chipped? Because I recall podcasts from around that time warning people with the Homebrew Channel thaby Dark_Wolf101 - Getting Started
Hey! I was thinking about installing the Wii Homebrew channel, and I just had a few queries. Firstly, I'm worried that if I install it now, any proceding Firmware updates will brick my Wii. Is there a way to prevent Firmare updates (which are neccessary to go online and play future games) from bricking my console? And is there a way of restoring my console without losing data?
