FTP is very slow, yes. Still, it's a good use of what you have.by WikiFSX - Offtopic
Was it formatted as HFS+ (Mac OS Extended, I believe) or Unix File System? If so, most homebrew does not support it, including the Homebrew Channel itself. If you formatted it as something else, there should be no issue.by WikiFSX - Getting Started
If your System Menu IOS is unmodified (good idea), you will be unable to use the Homebrew Channel through the SD card menu unless you already have it installed on your Wii.by WikiFSX - Getting Started
QuotekeybounceQuoteWikiFSXThe IOS needs to have fakesigning support, or else the installation will fail. I'll try the installer myself and see how it goes. Ok, were you able to get it to work? (Again: Mine came with Boot2v4. I think that was the restrictive set.) I wasn't able to get it to work. Oddly enough, it seems that it occurred because the update server is either down orby WikiFSX - Homebrew General
Just take the boot file from the Dop-MII archive and replace the one you have on your SD card right now with it. It will work.by WikiFSX - Getting Started
Quotemattlfc88how do i get rid of the darkcorp/ cIOScorp Use bannerbomb to launch Dop-MII and install a ton of unpatched IOSes. IOS30 would be a good one to install.by WikiFSX - Getting Started
If your remote functions normally, it may just be a visual error. You could report the bug at bugs.hackmii.com, but that seems mostly unused.by WikiFSX - Getting Started

The BootMii installation might have to do with write-enabling (and enabling) /dev/flash, AHBPROT changing, or ImportBoot with fakesigned stuff; I don't know which.by WikiFSX - Homebrew General
If you are missing an IOS, the game won't run at all.by WikiFSX - Homebrew General
There may be no solution to this problem, and it may not matter. Unless the entire HBC is upside down.by WikiFSX - Getting Started
The best option would probably be a C++ port.by WikiFSX - Ideas, requests
Sounds perfect. For NAND backups, you would install BootMii/boot2. That provides brick protection under most circumstances. It cannot protect against botched boot2 updates (but those are very rare). EDIT: If you do not have a GameCube controller, press the Power button to cycle through options in the BootMii menu and press Reset to pick an option. I'm not entirely sure where the menu iby WikiFSX - Getting Started

Mplayer CE can play DVDs. It may be that your Wii can't. How old is it?by WikiFSX - Homebrew General
No, it won't. You need to install an Infectus modchip (www.infectus.biz) and format your NAND that way. I'm not sure if that will even help, honestly. You'd need to talk to someone more knowledgeable than me (try bushing or marcan).by WikiFSX - Getting Started
Is the homebrew browser in a folder in the apps folder, or just in the apps folder?by WikiFSX - Getting Started
Apparently, you can program for the Wii with BCX Basic. Depending on how close that language is (by the looks of it, not very) to VB, you could port it to BCX and then to the Wii.by WikiFSX - Ideas, requests
Eventually, yes, you would. If you had a swap system, it'd get slow.by WikiFSX - Homebrew General
System Menu 3.0-4.1+bannerbomb v1: Go to the SD Card data management screen. System Menu 3.0-4.1+bannerbomb v2: Doesn't work. System Menu 4.2+bannerbomb v1: Doesn't work. System Menu 4.2+bannerbomb v2: Go to the SD Card Menu (the little SD card on the main menu).by WikiFSX - Getting Started
It's not the laser that matters in the drive. It's actually the drive's firmware that has been changed to make data DVDs unreadable.by WikiFSX - Getting Started
QuoteLinkSlayer64Just a question, could it be possible to implement a swap file of sorts to get by the RAM problem? just curious Technically? Yes. Practically, it'd be way too slow.by WikiFSX - Homebrew General
What settings are you using?by WikiFSX - Homebrew General
It might be possible to reimplement it in C++ with grrlib or SDL if the source can be seen.by WikiFSX - Ideas, requests
If your Wii is new enough, very old IOSes will no longer work. It used to be an issue for people doing stupid crap, but isn't anymore.by WikiFSX - Getting Started
Nintendo actually never changed anything. The update's just as safe as it has always been.by WikiFSX - Getting Started
This is 100% possible, but very very difficult if RAM is not an issue. If it is, and it is, this becomes impossible. EDIT: About hacking: it's possible to modify ASM, and that means we can do just about anything. It's not easy, in fact it's extremely hard, and you basically need a USB Gecko. Those are no longer made; the schematics are gone as well.by WikiFSX - Homebrew General
