I want to use the Wii Shop Channel on my original Wii. The thing is, I transferred all of my stuff to my Wii U, adn then restored my Wii's NAND. The one time I tried using the WSC again, it basically recognized that my Wii had already transferred and I couldn't download any games. When I went back to my VC games, they couldn't "be played on this console". I had to re-dump my NAND tby bigmac909 - Homebrew General
Hey all! I've decided that, if at all possible, I'm willing to pay some cash if it means fixing this Wii of mine. With the next big home console on the horizon, I'm doubtful that there will be any further system updates (mine bricked right after 4.3 too, so I'm pissed). I'm at a bit of a loss of what my new (wallet-draining) options actually are short of sending itby bigmac909 - FixMii
Alright, thanks everybody. And hopefully a new update will be out soon, as it's typically every 6 months a new system menu is released. I'll try to make a video of the un-bricking in progress to help other people with questions similar to mine.by bigmac909 - FixMii
Thanks for clarifying. It just seems weird why that would work, and I wondered if I'd misinterpreted something. So as soon as said disc comes out, it just fixes itself? Simple as that?by bigmac909 - FixMii
So it' been awhile since I made this topic, and I really miss my Wii. I was doing some more research, and I saw that Nintendo will fix a softmodded Wii for a hefty price. Can somebody verify? And am I right in thinking that I'm supposed to be waiting for a game to be released with a 4.4 update that will just magically fix my Wii when I pop it in? Research yields different methods,by bigmac909 - FixMii
I'm no expert, but I believe messing with the bluetooth is dangerous to the wii. I'd wait for someone smarter to give you some input, but to me, the whole thing doesn't seem worth it.by bigmac909 - Hardware
Ok, so how do I operate this "maintenance mode"? From what I've seen it's entered through holding + and - while pressing (A) at the startup screen. But my wii doesn't get that far, so how would I get there?by bigmac909 - FixMii
Went to my cousins, tried it, and it still didn't work. So when I got back home, I opened up a different controller, handled everything more cafefully, and... SUCESS! Now i just have to play the waiting game for a new update disc, correct?by bigmac909 - FixMii
Right, that's why I want to try that, just in case I'm doing it wrong. Thank you.by bigmac909 - FixMii
So I tried savemiifrii, and it didn't work. One last thing I'm going to try is to do savemiifrii on my cousins wii. If I'm doing the process correctly, will the system menu version still appear for a working wii?by bigmac909 - FixMii
Wow. Thanks for the detailed response. I should be able to do my own research from here on out (though I'll probably be back). I'll most likely report back after I try savemiifrii (waiting for triwing in the mail). I really do appreciate the timely responses and detailed information. Words cannot express.by bigmac909 - FixMii
Ok thanks. I'm working on getting a triwing screwdriver, so I'm anxious to see what happens in this lose/lose situation. I don't really know If I prefer my VC games or game data, but probably the game data. As an alternative, somemone mentioned manually installing bootmii. I did some research, and my wii is old enough, but there are no guides on how to install it from the computby bigmac909 - FixMii
Ok. ONE LAST question. How do I know if the savemiifrii worked? Can I tell before the part where I need an un-updatable disc, so that I can try it now, and not have to wait untill a new update comes out, in case it's a full brick and I would have to send it to nintendo anyways?by bigmac909 - FixMii
My wii is pretty old, so any details on that manual installation would be great. My biggest concern: My VC games. If I get nintendo to give me a new wii, will they give me the VC games back? They were all on my SD card, and I don't think the SD card VC games are compatible with different Wiis, are they?by bigmac909 - FixMii
Thanks again for all the help, you've given me a little hope. I'll shut up for now until I try that.by bigmac909 - FixMii
So even if i managed to hit all 4 directions at once, and the wii was savable, I'm on 4.3u, so I would have to wait for a game with a 4.4 update on it? And just to clarify, there's NO WAY I can retrieve any save data? Thanks for all of the help, by the way.by bigmac909 - FixMii
Thank you for a response. And no, there is no sound at all, and my wiimote won't connect, because the wii was last used at my cousin's house, using his wiimote. So I would have to sync it for one of my wiimotes to work. And if there really is no soulution, that's just a shame i guess, I don't know what could have bricked it And I did try using that diagram, but I get sent to bby bigmac909 - FixMii
So I go get my wii out of my room, it wasn't hooked up at all, I bring it to my cousins to play my game data, so it'd just been sitting in a gym bag for like a week. I plug it in, and before I change the video of my TV, eject a previous gamecube disc that was in there to put in my newly bought Other M. I then change the TV/video to the proper setting, to see a black screen. I tryby bigmac909 - FixMii
My homebrew won't be deleted? Or is it some other order of things? Talking about 4.3, of courseby bigmac909 - Getting Started
Any confirmation on Eniggy's claims? My main use of the homebrew is the VBA GX, so...by bigmac909 - Homebrew General
I downloaded WIISCU for the purpose of visiting the latest Shop Channel. Unaware of what version shop channel I was supposed to use, I just went to the highest one (v25). Now, it's been saying "Downloading title netadata.." for about half an hour now. Here's what I want to know: Can I just update to 4.3 via NUS after I download the latest version of homebrew? It seems like this is whby bigmac909 - Homebrew Applications
