No. I don't have any facilities to compile this and I don't have a USB gecko. Is there a compiled version somewhere that will do a full format and install? Steveby strells - FixMii
I've tried at least 3 times. What exactly is supposed to happen? Is there any progress indication that should occur? I'll download the files again, but why would that make a difference? Steveby strells - FixMii
Just as it says in the readme (http://github.com/comex/formatter/blob/1c8b0165d5eeb3d54ff99b7bbae24c263a708103/readme.txt), I downloaded the titles and versions listed, created wads from them, and put them in a wad folder on a blank SD card. From bootmii, I went to the SD option and started formatter.elf. I also had found ppcboot.elf and tried that as well, but I think it's the same thingby strells - FixMii
The readme is about as bare bones as you can get. All it says is to put the 4 wads into a wad folder. That's it. Steveby strells - FixMii
Do they need to be named something in particular? I just kept the default names from NUS Downloader. And should the formatter show any progress? Steveby strells - FixMii
A couple of months ago I posted about my 3.3% bricked Wii with bootmii boot2 installed (and stupidly no NAND backup). I finally got around to trying to format it and start over. Following the readme for comex's formatting tool, I created 4 wads using NUS Downloader and put them in a wad folder. From bootmii, I was able to run formatter.elf from the SD card. I get a message saying the first wby strells - FixMii
I got this a few weeks ago and stupidly did not have a NAND backup. I still need to try the formatter to see if I can get this Wii back up (already bought a new Wii but can't put bootmii in boot2 on it). Steveby strells - BootMii Beta
Quoteterry92126My Nand fs usage is 69.4% and yet when I run the backup nand to my bricked wii, nothing happen. Any1 have any idea? Can you create your own thread? This one is mine. ;-) Steveby strells - FixMii
Do you have a good source for doing this? I did a little Googling, but I couldn't find anything substantial about how to resurrect a Wii like this. Steveby strells - FixMii
Damn...how could this have happened? Steveby strells - FixMii
I think I know the bad answer based on my research here, but it probably won't hurt to ask anyway. I have a launch day Wii that has worked perfectly for 3 years. I installed BootMii to boot2 but stupidly did not do a NAND backup. I went away for a week for work. When I came back, I could start the Wii with the remote, but I could not get to anything past BootMii. I had done nothing toby strells - FixMii
Well, what do you know! I had a Gamecube SD Gecko adaptor in. As soon as I removed it, HBC would come right up! But I didn't even have an SD card in the adaptor. I thought SD Gecko was just wires, no detection circuit (like a pull-up or pull-down). But I guess HBC was trying to read it even with no SD card in it. Steveby strells - Homebrew General
QuoteArikadoI believe this is because the libfat used in 1.0.3 is actually significantly slower for some SD Cards than others. There's really nothing you can do for this except wait for the next release of the HBC. Maybe, but I even tried it with no SD card in the slot, and the same thing happened! Steveby strells - Homebrew General
No luck. It still takes too long to start HBC. After uninstalling HBC, do I have to leave Hackmii, reboot, and come back before reinstalling HBC? Does that make any difference? I don't understand why I'm the only person with this problem. Steveby strells - Homebrew General
Tried installing IOS60 (+Trucha; was that correct?) and reinstalling HBC. No luck. Tried going to HBC from bootmii. No luck. I timed the delay. It's usually exactly 30 seconds, sometimes a little more, sometimes a little less. Something is timing out before HBC can load. Any ideas what else I can check? I'm at 4.0. Steveby strells - Homebrew General
Do I have to put it at the root, or can I run it from the HBC? Steveby strells - Homebrew General
Anybody? This is really annoying.by strells - Homebrew General
This only started happening recently. Previously, when I started the Homebrew Channel, I would see the SD card image and the apps would appear immediately. Now, with 1.0.3 (I don't know if it is a version thing or not), after selecting the HBC, my screen will stay black, sometimes for up to 30 seconds, before the SD card loading image occurs. Is there something on my card that may be slowby strells - Homebrew General
