JD, after disabling the hacks on Priiloader, did you save your preferences? You must not just disable them, you must save these settings afterward.by Aobx - Homebrew General
QuoteSifJarTBR doesn't downgrade IOS36, but a crappy tool by a certain infamous coder does. As for the channel issue: I dunno how that is caused by only IOS36 being corrupted. Perhaps other IOS were downgraded too (quite possible if the tool I am thinking of was used). The spanish coder with that downgrader, you mean? NintendoFreak should specify which tool he used, or tell us what theby Aobx - Homebrew General
I thought it wasn't an IOS issue because every channel reboots the console. Doesn't every channel use a different IOS, like HBC using IOS61, Mii Channel using IOS31, etc? Or their channels are always launched by IOS36 than reloads into something else? Also, can TBR downgrade IOS36? I thought it only patched it.by Aobx - Homebrew General
Seems like a corrupted system menu. Maybe a update through disc will solve it, I don't know. Have you already tried that?by Aobx - Homebrew General
Just download it and run through HBC. Wiibrew wiki has a page of it with a download link.by Aobx - Homebrew General
Try Loadmii and see if it works. That's the most practical way of launching homebrew, after HBC.by Aobx - Homebrew General
You're getting it wrong. You have many IOSes in your system, and each app uses the one it suits better. HBC works fine with IOS61, that's why it's likely to be chosen. Priiloader doesn't use IOS61 as default, I told you it's a bug. You didn't install patched IOS36 wrong. Just load Priiloader's installer through Loadmii, it will use IOS36.by Aobx - Homebrew General
I reported this bug to dacotaco, he says he's working in a workaround, for the next release. Maybe it's caused by the way HBC 1.0.7 handles IOS reloading, since Priiloader isn't loaded by IOS36, as default. The workaround I've found needs a GC controller. Just run Priiloader's installer through Loadmii, then use GC controller to install Priiloader. When returning to loby Aobx - Homebrew General
I've found a site where Wii's dvd drives statistics are shown, based on its serial number. It seems that even the newer ones have a slight chance of coming with an older dvd drive, thus being able to read dvd movies (D3 was the last one to read dvds, wasn't it?) Pretty curious why Nintendo doesn't make all Wiis with the newer drives.by Aobx - Homebrew General
You can do so with a FTP app, like FTPii or WiiXplorer. You will need to connect your PC and your Wii via FTP, so you will also need a FTP client for Windows. I don't know if everything in your Wii's NAND will be shown (your sd card will be fully shown though).by Aobx - Homebrew General
Finally, it's solved. And thanks, jbc, for explaining me about the way this downgrade works, I really didn't know it.by Aobx - Homebrew General
You're misunderstanding something, there's no "wiibrew" application. It's just the name of a wiki-type webpage dedicated to homebrews on the Nintendo Wii. As for the SSBB save file, it's just used as an exploit to install Homebrew Channel (there are more uses as an exploit, but that's a basic one). So, once HBC is installed, you can delete SSBB save file with no worrieby Aobx - Homebrew General
IOS36 isn't downgraded, it's patched. In fact, I really don't know why IOS15 is used. After all, IOS41 is installed for its trucha bug, IOS15 also has the bug, so... there must be a difference. Maybe IOS15 has more privilegies? Anyway, try to do as I suggested, for now. Use Trucha Bug Restorer MOD v1.13, write down precisely the error message, if it comes. Then, boot TBR MOD v1.by Aobx - Homebrew General
Maybe it's giving an error because of that issue in HBC 1.0.7 we discussed? TC give Loadmii a try, then. Just for experimentation sake.by Aobx - Homebrew General
I upgraded to IOS15 v1031. Then, opened Trucha Bug Restorer MOD v1.13 and installed unpatched IOS41 v2835. Tried to downgrade IOS15 to v257 and it worked. Maybe TC could try that, or use Dop-Mii to check which IOS41 revision is installed first.by Aobx - Homebrew General
I'd do tests for check this out, installing IOS41 then trying to downgrade IOS15 using it. But since I'm not in firmware 4.3, I don't know if my success would repeat in the said system menu. Or this isn't related and I can test even on another firmware?by Aobx - Homebrew General
In fact, but there's the same mod for TBR v1.13. It even has the option to install unpatched IOS41, making it simpler. As I said it, I never tested it, but there shouldn't be any grave danger testing it. I've read some testimonials that the mod worked for them, but it wasn't said the original TBR failed for them first. If TC wants to try it, it's called Trucha Bug Restoreby Aobx - Homebrew General
There's a mod to TBR. Allegadely, it works better, but I never tested it. I don't think it's piracy related, since there's nothing this mod does that TBR doesn't. Isn't worth a try?by Aobx - Homebrew General
Thanks for sharing your knowledge, ekeeke. That makes sense, but there is, at least, one example of application that stopped working using IOS61, even not using any patched IOS, is sysCheck 1.6.2. Worked fine until HBC 1.0.7. Wiimote loses sync using IOS61, but hangs at about 60% of the process. Using IOS36 (loaded by Loadmii) doesn't make the wiimote lose sync, but hangs up at the same poinby Aobx - Homebrew General
I think the devs just "hitched a ride" with HBC reloading to IOS36, so the app didn't bother to do it itself. And HBC seems to be acting different, doesn't reloading to IOS36. It's kinda strange, since it would render useless the "no_ios_reload" tag. I really don't know the details, I'm pretty noob at this. Does bushing already know there's a case where this happeby Aobx - Homebrew General
Did you install the oldest revision of IOS41 (i.e. v2835)?by Aobx - Homebrew General
Unfortunately, it isn't reloading to another IOS here, even without the tag. I don't know if there's something causing HBC to do that, a bug or some other thing. Maybe the devs need to change their code, since some apps that manually reload an IOS seems to work fine, like Dop-Mii, for instance.by Aobx - Homebrew General
There's really no benefit in downgrading. With Hackmii Installer v0.7 working on system menu 4.3, there's nothing for you in older firmwares. Just install the new Homebrew Channel and Bootmii, then everything will go fine for you.by Aobx - Homebrew General
HBC 1.0.7 has pretty set up the need for apps to update their code. Most of them are loaded with IOS61, and do not work properly. I believe it's because the former HBC reloaded to IOS36 by itself before launching an app, didn't it? So most apps would benefit from this and wouldn't manually reload IOS36 again. I've tried to install Priiloader again, but the installation keptby Aobx - Homebrew General
By the way, since warez loaders read ISOs, couldn't a video player be able to read a movie ISO, in the future? Or it's impossible? Even without D3-2, some of my dvds play poorly, and I don't feel like using the console's ODD for any purpose other than games. I don't know if it's true, but there's a saying that playing something other than official Nintendo discsby Aobx - Homebrew General

Quotedirtrider73068Sifjar, I have read on the patching, and using the dop-mii for the fake signing but still have a hard understanding. Does it matter what ios you chose to fake sign or can you use any ios other than hbc and the system menu ios? I have the ios 202 installer and tried it but don't have a fakesign ios for it to install. I searched here for ios 202 and it had a post linked toby Aobx - Homebrew General
QuoteSifJarBasically, what loading the DVDX channel did before was set a register called HW_AHBPROT to allow full hardware access e.g. access to disc drive for playing DVDs. This was done in apps by calling the function DI_Init(). However, now TT have decided to remove support for DVDX, and make it so HBC can (if the correct tag is added to the meta.xml) load an app with the register set correctlby Aobx - Homebrew General
I believe it's for interest. If you find the exactly IOS15 revision where things go wrong, you could compare it to all its previous releases to determine what makes it incompatible with LU64+. Knowledge almost always proves itself useful. There might be some future situation similar to this one, and knowing this stuff might be helpful. SifJar, I checked the new hackmii, but I was confused about this: "Ability to not reload IOS when launching an application. This effectively means that loaded applications inherit the title id, gaining direct hardware access via HW_AHBPROT. To use this feature, add ? to the node in your meta.xml file. wiiloaded binaries automatically gain direct hardware access. libogc SVN (starting witby Aobx - Homebrew General
