You can use the segher's tools rip off compiled for windows by me... (FE100 & it's keygrabber) one is a packer and unpacker for savefiles... the other just grabs the stuff from your savefile and keydump (only ecc key)... it gets the shared keys used in unpacking from hackmii.com You can just use the keygrabber and use the segher's tools too... 1. rename wii-system-menu-update-PAL-v290.iso as menu32.iso (just to type less in the command prompt) 2. copy menu32.iso to c:\ 3. copy the bootme.exe to the c:\ 4. go to start->run, type cmd and press enter 5. type c:\bootme menu32.iso a and press enter... alternatively... you can open the iso in an editor that has large file support and hex mode like ultraedit... and change the firby WiiCrazy - FixMii
QuotewhodaresYou could always seperate the FileTools into a VB.NET class library, then you can build a C# UI for it :-) It's really slow in lz77 decompression, I'll touch that first tweaking the c# equivalent code and see if it helps in speed... I noticed too much uses of ByVals instead of ByRefs... and I guess rewriting the bitstream read write operations could help the speed a lot tby WiiCrazy - Homebrew General
QuotewhodaresVB.NET is much better than VBScript, completely different. If I get time, I'll convert the code to C# for you The only difference between VB.NET and C# are the keywords. "this" becomes "Me", "static" becomes "Shared" etc. Well I know :) I just didn't bother to look into vb.net, I know it's actually much easier in some tasks... since I liked java and c/c++'sby WiiCrazy - Homebrew General

Using anyregion changer set your wii's game region to JP then your modchip will work fine... Or you can reconfigure your modchip to NTSC-U region.. I don't know how you do that with wiikey, but for example for d2ckey and d2pro it's a matter of closing a jumper or opening it according to the modchip's documentation... Your actual problem is, your modchip changes the regionby WiiCrazy - The Junkyard
QuoteWack0QuoteWiiCrazyWhat we have is possibly a limited recovery option for banner bricks So someone with a banner brick try it. At the H&S banner hold down plus and minus. Nopez you can't unbrick with starfall in that state... Since you already overwritten the starfall patched menu with a new one... But you can use savemii or the gc pad trick and a game disc with a higher version of system update than the current one installed...by WiiCrazy - FixMii
Savemii won't help, since it's mainly exploiting a system menu feature... Send it to nintendo for repairs...by WiiCrazy - FixMii
Well no known way to fix your wii at the moment... You should send it to nintendo to fix it.. or to the guys that installs that bootmii stuff into the nand using hardware means... My 2 cents... If you had replied yes to one of 3,4 or 5 then it was solveable yet still with a modchip...by WiiCrazy - FixMii
Follow the troubleshooting diagram and tell us where you end up... then we can give advice... especially, 1. do you have a modchip? if yes, which one? 2. what system menu you have? 3. If it's above 3.2, did you ever downgraded your ios's so that they still have trucha bug in them ? 4. do you have starfall installed and installed the recovery mode and diag disc check disable pby WiiCrazy - FixMii

Here is the end of my adventure... 1. System menu version after brick : 3.2U 2. Type of brick : banner brick (bad unexpected u8 header (lz77 compressed) ) 3. Cause of brick : tried to make a custom banner for boulderdash game I injected into International Karate 4. Your modchip : d2c pro gw 601, but I used a wiikey2 modded drive to unbrick since d2c pro was not letting me autoboot 5. Softwby WiiCrazy - FixMii
Quotewhodares Looks like it's the DOL it caches, and not the banner. Although this to me seems utterly backwards... Research ongoing Edit 2 Interestingly enough, in my copy of cache.dat with Mario Kart Wii (Pal) in the drive. The file contains a banner with IMET header at offset 0x002BD7A0 It will only display that banner if you have disc in the drive, if you don't have a disc theby WiiCrazy - Homebrew General
Quotedaniel_c_wLet's assume, that the Wii caches banners from discs on its internal memory: wouldn't the following work?: -create a program that clears the cache (where is it stored in the internal Memory?) -create an autobooting disc with that program -make sure your System Menu is not patched to ignore Autobooting discs p.s.: I dout Nintendo caches, because even if I did noby WiiCrazy - Homebrew General
QuotewhodaresMoving on to the stub loader is one possible solution. I have another project that I do flick to from time to time. It works to a degree. I don't have a mod chip, so DVD+RW's are out. Also, didn't I read somewhere that the Wii can cache the disc banner on the console, so if it goes wrong, you might still semi-brick the Wii. In a way, this makes me really reserved onby WiiCrazy - Homebrew General
I guess to be motivated at least you should create some banner files and test them on dvd-rw's, without being afraid of brick and the hassle of packing/unpacking of a channel... Or you can make it open source, so the contribution of other people would probably motivate you... You can even divert your project to be say creating channel stubs... QuotesymbiantDamn it. I thought modchips used some sort of method that wii can't jsut patch away. It seems like it should be possible to use it to run homebrew as its able to run backups. After all, isn't a backup improperly signed too (hence the need for a chip)? Nopez, a backup is an exact copy of the original in terms of actual data on the disc read by the system... Well not relevant, modchip enables homebrew on systems that has still trucha bug in the ios that the system menu uses... On a fresh install of 3.3 and 3.4 this is not the case...by WiiCrazy - Homebrew General
Well I bought a cheap wii, the bricked one stays the same... Probably I won't be continuing with the apploader stuff since I (possibly) burned the modchip (or something else) on the bricked wii's drive... Maybe I can continue with the wiiconnect stuff since my bricked wii gets an ip from my router and downloads new messages... The last test I did was with below code... It restartby WiiCrazy - Software
well it has use actually... 1. In extreme brick cases you can possibly take someone else's healthy nand image and decrypt it... and encrypt it with your wiis keys... of course as a precaution... yet no current public howtos exist... 2. You can manipulate savedata & backed up content from wii 3. You can decrypt your own nand imageby WiiCrazy - Homebrew Applications

1. Burn an autoboot semi-brick fix disc of your region (download from hackmii then use bootme to make it autoboot, you can download it from wiibrew.org) 2. Insert the disc and shutdown the wii so that power led is lighted red 3.
