File permissions are about the only thing that would be "iffy" to do manually. When a new title is registered, it is given a "UID" (/sys/uid.sys), which is used to represent ownership in the filesystem. The title data directory is owned by this UID, and when one Identifies as this title, all fs operations are done under that UID. Adding a uid to uid.sys isn't necessarily a daunting task,by tona - Software

QuoteDanielHuehoThe only homebrew content that will be removed is the Twilight Hack, and the patchmii IOS254 (known as "Patchmii_core" to some), which is the patched IOS necessary for modchip users. QuoteArikadoFurthermore, I have a theory that only HBC lower than beta 9 is being deleted by this update. As far as any of us can tell, the rumors about the update deleting fakesigned content are just that--rumors. Once installed, HBC b9 TMDs/tickets are pretty much the same as they were in b8 and b7. There was a change to support the Korean Common key or somesuch, but otherwise nothing.by tona - Homebrew General
The "Recovery mode" gets triggered before the Opera Brick page. So, yes, you have the potential to fix those bricks (Full brick/region brick/opera brick) with starfall.by tona - FixMii
QuoteHyperHackerIf it's designed with any sense at all, the very first thing it will do is install the recovery code. So you would have a window of a few microseconds, while that code is being written to flash, where your Wii will be hosed if the power is lost. After that it'd be possible to boot from SD to try again.boot2 is small. BootMii is also going to be small. We're talkingby tona - Homebrew General
QuoteSquidManBOOT2 is not actually a title. 1-1 is just an alias that ES uses for it (who knows why? =/) Also, 1-0 is a title created when you authenticate with the "SU" ticket, which has a titleID of 1-0. It is mainly for getting access to all content directories on the NAND.You'll only get this title if you use a funny looking SU ticket. I'm not sure that BootMii and "custom channels" have anything to do with the DSi. The DS had a large homebrew following, though, and almost assuredly someone will be hacking it. There are lots of interested parties ATM.by tona - Offtopic
Quotezunparaok, hopefully we get a special channel to make things evenYou used to be able to get this channel by changing your Wii's shop region to Japanese. You still can, but now you have to delete your Wii Shop account and all registered titles in order to change region. @TheManuel: That's not the issue. He obviously got the save installed. @Healed: Try reformatting your SD card. There are some guides on wiibrew.org of how to do it. The "Official SD Card Format tool" (google it) is also known to be good. It sounds like it's having trouble finding the file system on your SD card, finding the boot.dol, etc.by tona - Homebrew General

You use the term "Semi-brick" a lot, but I'm not sure you're aware of what it refers to. See: Your Wii wouldn't load games, but that's not exactly a symptom of any sort of brick. Are you using any sort of drivechip? If so, it is much more likely that it had some sort of issue. And you should take support for that elsewhere.by tona - FixMii
