Pretty much. Add that to the fact that there is no mechanism to auto-update and there really is no reason to worry.by PhoenixTank - Getting Started
So, my PAL Wii is a launchweek Wii, and I have heard about system menu 4.0 and previous updates fixing trucha bugged IOS. I've always updated through Nintendo completely normally. No CIOSes or other patching, just HBC installed from back in the days when they had the applications pack. I'm on 4.0 these days with HBC 1.03, bootmii (beta2) as boot2 and DVDX. I ran signcheck (0.3a) the oby PhoenixTank - Homebrew General
EULAs are not a substitute for local law. So, in most places, no.by PhoenixTank - Getting Started
The bannerbomb site is 403ing for me too... how odd. You're in luck though, Nuke seems to have mirrored it recently.by PhoenixTank - Getting Started
I am in a somewhat similar predicament. I love the new black look, but I don't want to lose the expanded functionality of my launch week Wii. I have a feeling that the best option here would to buy a decent black case mod and install that, as well as picking up a black Wii Remote on import.by PhoenixTank - Offtopic
*raises hand* I bought a Wii hacking/dev/debug device, of all things, on impulse... and to think... I used to be so... non-geeky :( While we are on the topic... Nuke has recently relaunched USBgecko.comby PhoenixTank - Offtopic
The reliability of FAT support on other devices is kinda irrelevant here. As for loading in the case of a completely non-functional filesystem... there are other ways to start an application. USB pen/harddisk drives, wiiload over wifi, wiiload over usbgecko. However, I am mainly thinking of the cases in which there is an issue, but not severe enough to block all access. For example, unmountby PhoenixTank - Coding
Quotedaniel_c_wQuote* Try adjusting the "Channel" your wireless router broadcasts on. We highly recommend setting your wireless router to either channel 1 or 11. This can potentially increase the download speed.. Can somebody tell me, why this should work? Sounds like Voodoo to me. More interference on other channels, I believe.by PhoenixTank - Homebrew General
Hi guys, As far as I am aware, no filesystem error/integrity checker (a la chkdsk or e2fsck) exists for Wii. I'm unlikely to have the experience to write it, but I'm interested in the theory, even if I can't manage the practical. I feel the Wii could use the ability to check if a FAT partition has been messed up, and hopefully I am not alone there. Where would someone even starby PhoenixTank - Coding

After you have installed HBC delete the recently added "private" folder (containing bannerbomb) and rename your "privateold" folder back to "private". Leave the DCIM folder as it is.by PhoenixTank - Getting Started
I wondered why the heck I couldn't get SDL to compile the other day. Thank you for the fix! May be worth PMing Tantric or posting the bug on the google code pageby PhoenixTank - Coding
QuotealainveyIf the tutorials only demonstrate how to install and run warez launchers, without demoing the game content, then no copyright is violated, even if copyright violation is the aim. This is how I read scanff - I would be less eager to shoot him down, if I were you, since he knows what he's talking about. Seconded. Not sure how an argument managed to come out of that discussion.by PhoenixTank - Offtopic
Just to add, I believe The Conduit is using Nintendo servers. I think only EA have set up an alternative to it.by PhoenixTank - Offtopic

Quotedaniel_c_wSlightly Off Topic. I understand why frames are considered bad, but the W3C still has not abandoned them and I think they can save a lot of bandwidth and are great for menus. What do you guys think? For the page to validate it needs to be a special frameset dtd (or transitional in the case of iframe). That is good enough of an indication to me that they should be avoided wherby PhoenixTank - Offtopic

Quotedemo.redmine.orgWelcome to the Redmine demo server. This is a test system for Redmine users to try out Redmine and it's new features. All the data is here is temporary test data, so fell free to modify it as you'd like. QuotejsmasterQuoteDarknessFirefox it's open-source community is allot bigger! I think we should use Gecko, more support I think. This is just an idea, so... You know... We are not going to port Gecko. Gecko is way too complicated and uses tons of libraries which are not ported to the Wii. We are starting with something that is simpler, and does not require any extra libraries. Right now, sby PhoenixTank - Ideas, requests
QuotedrewmieSo when will this fixed version of Snex9xGX make it to the official Homebrew Browser? That'd be teknecal's department now, if the fixed version is public.
