As far as I'm aware FreeDo is open source, so I was curious if a port would be possible?by nightwishfan1 - Ideas, requests
I dont quite get how to open a feature request there, and I dont use ICQ if that's where you're suggesting me to go.by nightwishfan1 - Ideas, requests
I dont see why not. Some of there members are admins here are they not? At least this can draw attention to the idea from some of them.by nightwishfan1 - Ideas, requests
Quotebg4545Gamecube Saver NuGaSa GameCube Memory Card manager (GCMM) Also, there's a difference with Gamecube saves as they can't be copied to the Wii. Not quite what I meant by installing Gamecube saves to the Wii console. I mentioned the Wii could see Gamecube saves through data management as an example that the Wii does see them without any drastic modification to system MIOSby nightwishfan1 - Ideas, requests
This is a request to add another means for the HBC to see homebrew via SD cards, which would be by utilizing SD Geckos. I realize there are USB drives and such, but for some people SD cards are cheaper, and more manageable in terms of physical space they occupy. I personally have three of them, and changing them between the front SD slot isnt too much to bother about, but I also have a SD Geckoby nightwishfan1 - Ideas, requests
Not sure how possible this would be, but I figured I'd ask and see what would be said about it. Anyways the idea to add GC saves installation to GC memory cards, to save game manager came to me when I read the page for save game manager. Basically it seems the Wii needs to have access to pre-existing saves it can see on it's flash memory, or w/e save device. I go through my Wii consoby nightwishfan1 - Ideas, requests
I was wondering about this when I decided I wanted to make use of my SD Gecko I had from my gamecube, as I no longer use my gamecube for homebrew anymore. In essence I thought the Homebrew Channel made use of almost all the homebrew loading methods, and therefore could make use of two of my SD cards at once, though apparantly not from a SD Gecko. I also just had the idea that Save Game Managerby nightwishfan1 - Software
Apparantly it cant. I just tried, though I wonder if they could get it to read apps from that location?by nightwishfan1 - Getting Started
^^They do. SNES9X GX, FCE Ultra GX, and VBA GX all can save snapshots, or sram files automatically. Not sure about the other emulators if they can auto save as well, but I do know that most allow you to access their main menu and manually save sram, and snapshots.by nightwishfan1 - Getting Started
Basically my subject line asks what I want to ask. If the HBC can see more than one SD card plugged into the console. To make it simple I'll explain it this way. Basically I have a GC SD adapter that I no longer use, since I primarily used it for GC homebrew back in the GC days, and now I use primarily the front SD slot on the Wii, but I'm curious as to whether or not I can utilizedby nightwishfan1 - Getting Started
Try searching Best Buys website for a PNY brand 8GB SDHC card. I own and bought one in store, and they cost $25. On the site might be a few bucks less. I'd give you a direct link to it, but these mods and admins would claim I'm advertising even with others posting merchant site links to products they sell....Besides I'm in no mood to prove them wrong again, cause I raised hell lby nightwishfan1 - Getting Started
I'm pretty sure your card is compatible, as the homebrew channel can detect and launch apps from it. About SNES9X. Tantrics emulators have a kind of history with detecting things in certain versions of the app. For example FCE Ultra GX had issues detecting the famicm disk bios file, and later had problems finding a rom image of the game genie rom file. This same issue spread to his otherby nightwishfan1 - Homebrew Applications
It is a great idea for an app, however a emulator has been asked to be ported once before. Virtual Jaguar. Only one problem with that emulator however. Lot of incompatibilities with games, it's kinda slow, and needs more optimisations. In other words it needs a lot of work, and stabilizing before anyone would consider porting it. Otherwise it would just end up being a huge headache forby nightwishfan1 - Ideas, requests
VBA GX 2.1.2 isnt optimised, and for a long time has had problems running some games properly even several versions prior. Anyways Tantric released that version of the emulator before dancingninja help him out. So pretty much it's a waiting game til 2.1.3 is released, as that version will have all the optimizations that dancingninja contributed to the emulator built in, and should show draby nightwishfan1 - Homebrew Applications
Well on your Wii you should've installed it in only one fashion since Bootmii installs two different ways. Those being it installs as boot 2, or IOS. Out of those two it should be boot 2. Now if you installed it as boot 2 then it is where it needs to be, and is preferable. I dont how you would check to make sure it is installed that way. As for keeping stability, and preventing futby nightwishfan1 - Getting Started
QuoteSifJarQuotenightwishfan1 Reason 2: To upgrade his Wiis system menu to 4.0 via unofficial means I know of no method for this which requires a patched IOS60. All the "safe updaters" need cIOS (i.e. IOS249), WadImport needs no patched IOS at all, another WAD installer I won't name lets you choose the IOS used, as does dop-IOS MOD. None of those need a patched IOS60, or any other patchedby nightwishfan1 - Homebrew Applications
Eh....I dont see the practicality in what he's doing. He also seems like a complete newbie to the homebrew scene, as he's taking advice from an outside source that IOS60 needs patching to use homebrew.....Which just isnt the case at all, cause we know most homebrew works fine without any patched IOS modules. The first time I used homebrew on Wii, I merely upgraded to 3.0 via Super Marby nightwishfan1 - Homebrew Applications
I can think of at least three possible reasons he'd want to patch IOS60. All of which I dont think would be supported here, and are typical reasons for wanting a patched or custom IOS60. Remember Sifjar that cIOS60 is a patched IOS60 itself. Perhaps he thinks dop-ios-mod can do that? Anyways the reasons I can come up with are below. Two assuming he thinks dop-ios-mod can make a custom Iby nightwishfan1 - Homebrew Applications
As my topic title states this request isnt for myself, but rather for Lavalit member Plombo who is having a problem with getting OpenBor to reset in the Wii version of that app. What I mean by reset is that he wants to get OpenBor resetting itself after stopping and quitting the playing of a mod. Currently OpenBor resets back to the HBC after you stop and quit playing a mod , but that obviouslyby nightwishfan1 - Ideas, requests
^^Both of those items need to be separate from each other. I'll use an example so you know how they should be setup properly. Lets start off as though your SD card completely is blank with nothing on it ok and you're gonna put things on it ok? With your SD card as completely blank and nothing else you place the private folder you have onto the card by itself. It should show up aby nightwishfan1 - Getting Started
I'm gonna quote a post from another topic that was discussing wiimotes. The following quoted post below should provide the necessary information you want and help you save a lot of trouble and time. You can go ahead and install the homebrew channel any time you like, however if you're wii system is at 4.2 then you need to install the latest version of it, which will work with 4.2. As for Bootmii. If you're intending to use it for protection it offers then you should know that it doesnt offer much protection at all on 4.2 system menus, as it installs as a IOS. I'm primarily interested in the next SMS Plus update since it seems it will feature some rather accurate emulation of SG1000, and Colecovision games. Being basically a four system emulator in one seems way better than downloading individual emulators for the respective systems, and is frankly a huge plus for me.by nightwishfan1 - Homebrew Applications
Talking about USB loaders isnt permitted on these forums, and yes a future system menu update could overwrite IOSs, and block homebrew, and in a worse case scenario possibly brick your Wii.by nightwishfan1 - Getting Started
Awesome. Do you have a download for it hosted anywhere? I google searched it, but apparantly the homebrew scene sites havent heard of it's release yet. Speaking of which maybe you should make a wiibrew page for it if you dont have a project page for it. That way it can be exposed to more users who may not find it otherwise. Edit: Found it. There seems to be a spanish forum of sorby nightwishfan1 - Homebrew Applications
It's not an official release from Eke-eke. The SVN revision may be up to date, and have some features, but until his wiibrew or google code page is updated for a new Genplus download will be when it's ready. If it's anything I seen him stress to users, it's the fact that while yes a certain revision features this and that, and it's all good. Cool. I love the idea of games developed freely, and distributed freely as LUA games are. I hope you continue working on it, cause as evidenced by the PSP LUA player, it's a pretty incredible thing which can keep a scene alive for a long while.by nightwishfan1 - Homebrew Applications
Ok I understand that LUA is primarily a scripting language, and I came across this app on dcemu Now my question is this....Would this be a player for LUA homebrew games? Or this merely some kind of utility to help in development of w/e? I ask cause I know there is a homebrew community for LUA, and the PSP has a player for it, and the various games developed for it. Now if this is a playeby nightwishfan1 - Homebrew Applications
I'd suggest syncing both wiimotes prior to using HBC and FCEU instead of trying to sync the second while using either FCEU or HBC. In my experience a wiimote will stay connected to the console when accessing homebrew. So start up the wii console then sync both your wiimotes, then access your homebrew via HBC. Also by trying to sync both wiimotes before accessing homebrew may tell you moby nightwishfan1 - Homebrew Applications
