A while ago I took a look at porting Secret Maryo Chronicles to Wii. It uses OpenGL and a bunch of other libraries the Wii doesn't have available to develop with right now so I figured I'd probably never look at it again. A few days ago though, a port of the game was released for the GP2X Wiz based on an older build of the game and made using only SDL. So I figured hey, why not recompilby Arikado - Coding

QuoteSifJarOf course, it is probably "better" to use a more up-to-date tool, but as they all require patched IOS (AFAIK), I cannot advise any of them unless you know what you're doing. There's a lot of IOSs SaveGame Manager MOD will work just fine with. No patching required.by Arikado - Getting Started
Those apps are really, really, really outdated. They're so old in fact, that the HBC doesnt recognize them. Use updated builds.by Arikado - Getting Started

I'd be thrilled to see another one pop up. Note though that there needs to be some pretty good prizes to get people to actually develop for the competition.by Arikado - Offtopic
First off, I give you HUGE thanks for doing this. A port of ALLEGRO for Wii would really open up wide doors for homebrew development (I was actually an ALLEGRO developer before I became a Wii homebrew developer so I'm really excited to see this). Secondly, using 4.2.3 of ALLEGRO and the UNIX builds are definitely the best way to go about porting the library. I took at look at the sourcby Arikado - Coding
That's a pretty general question so my best suggestion for you is to read through the source of existing programs that do this like WiiMC.by Arikado - Coding

QuoteMestizoI uninstalled WiiDoom and re-installed it as described on it's page. It's still crashing once I load Doom 1 As for the "No_ios_reload" tag, deleting it seemed to have fixed the problem. I disabled the internet and played around with both affected emulators, no crashes. In short: It makes disc ISO's. It doesn't run them. It doesn't require any patching of IOS to work. Long(er): This functionality is extremely useful. For example, in order to develop a savegame exploit you need an ISO. Another example, this lets you easily rip your games so you can play them on Dolphin. There is nothing "bad" about CleanRip.by Arikado - Homebrew Applications
What TV you use does not affect your Wii's performance. You could actually use the Wii without a TV connected to it at all. Your internet connection settings do not affect your Wii's performance (unless of course you're running code made to use the Internet. Ex: Wifi gaming.)
